I've had my 405 for 2 years and must have close to a 1000 shots.
Never had an issue. Many many hours cocked in both warm and frigid temperatures while hunting.

Re: cabelas making me happy
Cabelas customer service is top notch. I recently had the same thing happen last year after spending close to $2000. 2 days later I received a coupon for 10% off. They refunded me $200. Another thing cabelas did for our family was also real nice. About 10 years ago my father in law (an avid outdoors...

Re: Need your help guys
I shot a nice 5 pointer just last week. The next day a monster 10 showed up and was easily mine. I was a little disappointed but I hunt with this in mind.....

2nd successful year!
Well last week my matrix 405 took its second career buck and first doe. I couldn't be happier. I even found my arrow about 20 yards away from where it went through my buck stuck 2" into a pine tree. That's where things get a little interesting. The next day I noticed while sitting in my blind a...

Re: Air Break ?
One of my rubber pads just fell off too. On my 405. Bad glue joint I guess. They we're not on to long either. Maybe 20 shots. Excalibur replaced the pad and gave me a second one and gave me all 4 smaller Allen screws under warranty. I don't think I am putting them back on though. Really not enough o...

First time using warranty
My first time dealing with Excalibur for a warranty issue was an absolute pleasure. One of my rubber pads on my new set of air brakes fell off. I guess a bad glue joint. A new one is on the way along with a bunch of new Allen head screws that I stripped out. I'm just glad I saw it missing before I p...

Re: interested in feedback re:cold weather gear
Military extreme cold temperature boots. Aka Mickey Mouse boots, or bunny boots. Filson tin cloth jacket with Filson merino wool liner. And Filson tin cloth pants over jeans and long underwear. Filson stuff is very expensive but the quality is outstanding. Check eBay and you'll see Filson jackets th...

Re: Blood Trail
Last year was my first year hunting with arrows and I had the same concerns about blood trails. Using diablos and the bolt cutters my first deers blood trail started within a couple of feet of impact. And ran only 20 yards, if that before dropping. I had a great shot hitting the heart. The second de...

Re: M405 Shooters
I love my 405. It is also worth mentioning it is my first crossbow. I had to have fired it at least 500 times since purchasing it this past summer. I had to tighten the string many times. The string needs replacing now. The serving is still ok but the string is real thin and it kinked up when I remo...
