Re: Almost ready for next Saturday

Possum, do you use Sawyers, and is it odorless as claimed? Also, after washing clothes treated, does it leave a film, or residue in the washer or dryer? Good luck, hope to read about some fine hunting soon. I buy the stuff at tractor supply by the quart. Without running out to my shop and looking, ...

So would it be covered in warranty?
A few months ago I was talking to Danny Miller on the subject of scopes. He said they are covered under warranty same as Excalibur Crossbows.

Almost ready for next Saturday

Deer & Turkey archery season opens in the Blue Grass state next weekend. Got all my warm weather clothes and gear treated with permethrin and back in the plastic tubs. I am now going to hook the tractor to my shredder/chipper and go out and cut down a couple medium size cedar trees and feed-em t...

Re: Spare Cocking Rope?

I dont, but should have, before I find myself NEEDING one. Been thinking on buying some aluminum hooks from Munch and making a set of 7" solid aluminum handles long enough so that all four fingers of each hand fit.

Re: Broadhead accuracy help!!

expandable broadheads are not recommended for lower poundage bows such as the axiom, and my matrix 310. The problem is that the force required to deploy them slows them down and you don't get very good penetration................. Sorry but I have to disagree with your statement. An Excalibur cross...

Re: Broadhead accuracy help!!

Paul
I'm shooting my archery target at 40 yards with an axiom. I'm using excalibur firebolts. I'm accurate with 150 gr. Excalibur field points. When I fire the 150 gr bolt cutters I'm about six inches below the bullseye
I was seeing almost the same thing with my 330 with GT Lazer II ...

Re: 75 Days Countin Down

Why are you spraying permethrin so early? It will be ready to be sprayed again in about 21 days. I spray mine a couple of days before the season opens. Never been busted yet by doing so. The smell goes away when it dries. I'm going to wait and treat my gear on the 1st of Sept. I buy the stuff by th...

Re: Home made bag target

Some of the soreness has subsided and it is satisfying to shoot at a self made target that actually stop arrows better than what can be bought in stores. Could just throw my old Morrell super duper away so I added more old clothes, burlap and plastic to it and it stops arrows better than it did when...

Re: 75 Days Countin Down

21 days to go here in the bluegrass. Treestands and blinds are set, shooting lanes are cut. If it don't rain tomorrow going to hang my hunting clothes out and spray-email down with permethrin to keep skeeters, chillers & ticks away. Hope to fill my freezers with deer, turkey & squirrels-n-such

Home made bag target

After 7 years of heavy use my old Morrell bag target has plum give out. After looking around for a replacement bag target and the prices for a decent one I decided to make my own. Used old mattress batting, old clothes with all hardware removed and 6 burlap coffee bags. I rolled all this up and wrap...

Re: Removing Rear Insert from Diablo

I use a small soldering iron. It is small enough to fit. Inside if the threads of the insert. I hold the shaft around the area of the insert just to make sure that I don't overheat the shaft itself. Once I start to feel the heat wth my fingers I quickly grab my insert tool or blunt needle nose plier...

Re: A guy who hunts next to us had 2 stands and 2 cameras st

I've had 3 stands taken over the years, two of them were locked and chained. Thieves seemed to come prepared to steal as they brought bolt cutters. I would just love to come up on a a thief in the act. That's all I've got to say about that.
