Re: Thoughts on a new crossbow
I'm enjoying my Axiom. Would like to add a Matrix for next season. I was planning on the 330...small step up in power, more compact, with few to no issues I've heard about. Nice balance of performance and reliability it seems. I then got to thinking I might like a little more speed/power if I'm goin...

Question about leaving cocking rope on
Hello all. Purchased my Axiom SMF for Christmas last year, and am enjoying my first hunting season with it. I like to attach the cocking rope on my bow and leave it when I walk in and out to my stand. I'm wondering how long I can leave it on without bothering the limbs. It doesn't seem like it reall...

Re: FPS, Does This Sound Right?
No worries. You'll get different opinions. Obviously speed matters. I mean that's why we use a bow and don't just chuck it. But there are a lot of factors that go into picking a projectile. I'm new to crossbows but not archery or hunting. This debate happens all the time with rifle shooters. If you ...

Re: FPS, Does This Sound Right?
There are differing opinions, but I'm a fan of heavy projectiles, for bows, crossbows, and rifles for that matter. I shoot an Axiom with 150 gr heads on the Firebolts that came with it. I think the weight is in the ball park as your arrows. The Axiom is rated for the same speed as the Griz. Truth is...

Re: All 3 of my Excal's are a ready
Like Hester I'm in NC and my son and I will be in the woods tomorrow morning. Just doublechecked my Axiom and it's still dialed in tight with firebolts carrying 150 gr Slick Tricks. This was my Christmas present to myself last year so tomorrow is my first day hunting with a crossbow!

Re: O/T Recurve string help
I just make sure to serve the string down to the bottom of the grip. Protects the string against arm slap. I'm obviously a noob but thought it was good advice and works well for me.

Re: Axiom and Ibex
Yeah, that's what I was getting at. And the cub has a 190 lb draw weight, 40 lbs more than the Vixen II. I just wondered if there was enough of a market for the lower draw weights to keep the Vix around. I can kind of see dropping the Axiom (although I like mine) but 40 lbs is a big difference.

Re: Axiom and Ibex
Yeah but it wouldn't have the same level of performance as the Vixen at 150. It would mean introducing a bow with lower performance than what has been the minimum hunting bow they offer.

Re: Axiom and Ibex
I don't know if they'd hold on to just one of the larger models but seems like there will always be a market for the 150 lb pull. I bought an Axiom over Christmas and probably would have waited for the Griz if I knew it was coming out but I don't regret buying it. Personally I think they could keep ...

Re: Excalibur Matrix Grizzly
Well I had been thinking about buying an excal for a while and finally saved up the money over Christmas. I went with the Axiom. If I had been on this forum BEFORE I bought instead of after I probably would have held out for the Grizzly but I didn't know about it. Oh well love my Axiom. Kind of glad...
