So in following your story and being very new to Crossbows, how did you dry fire? My guess is you went to shoot at the target with no bolt? I shot my 335 today for the first time since the snow finally melted in Vermont. By the 3rd shot and second tweek in the scope I'm hitting bulleyes from 20 and 30 yards and within 2 inches from 40 (all free hand). Galamb- Thanx for the thorough explanation. I'm not sure I would want to use the Bloodrunners if they could cause an issue like that. I take it the boltcutters are the most popular.

Here in Vermont it looks like we may have crossbows legal for all for the next archery hunting season. The season may also be lengthen another 10 days. I hope it all happens. In the mean time my 67 old father may have no choice but to use one as the regular bow is harder for him. So I read a lot ab...

welp, I bought one. The nightmare 335 package for 800.00 on ebay. My Dad and I figure I'll be sharing the blind with him when he goes so I can pull it back if he needs it and if he really loves it we can get the crank. He may be able to "load" it himself either way. After trying some compo...
