Re: Excalibur Broadheads
I've been a fan of mechanicals for many a year, primarily the NAP Spitfire. I started out using them for my vert bow for several reasons: 1. Was having trouble tuning my arras to fly well at distances over 30 yards. Was a newbie and the fixed blades were driving me nut. Tried the spitfires and prest...

Re: My Crossbow Buddy
I used to have a deal like that for my vert bow but it was much smaller, unobtrusive and it positioned the bow pretty much straight up and down so I could set with my feet on either side of the bow, hang them off the front edge if I wanted or stand up and move around. This unit is a lot bigger, take...

No problem and good luck. Just remember the tip applies to any grinder you may buy. Do it and you will be happier with your grinder.
Cheers!

Re: My meat grinder Sucks!
Two last items: 1. My final grit was 1,500, as I want a mirror finish with no drag and a perfect cutting surface. 2. This is not exclusive to "cheap" grinders! I bet any of the above mentioned high grade grinders would work even BETTER if their blades and plates received the sanding/polish...

Re: My meat grinder Sucks!
Rifleman, A lot of good suggestions here as to models and it is true - you get what you pay for. Having said that, try this with your grinder. On the cheaper ones most times the cutting knives are poorly finished, edges are not sharp and the flats, the part that slides around against the end plate w...

My review of the Dr Stirrup Kit
Oooh Man, this is hard to write! I just read the gas attack post by doemaster, my eyes are still watering and sides hurt from laughing! Showed it to the Mrs. and my daughter, they almost wet their pants! But here goes: If you’re like me (and I think the majority of you are) we all like “stuff”, and ...

Re: kills per arrow ratio
Newbie I don't like to do that w arras an broardheads as it seems a waste of a good arra! But I do it with rifle kills, the brass case and use an engraver to apply the details so I won't forget. Most of my bucks are nothing to mount so I use a sharpie to write the details on the inside of the brain ...

Re: kills per arrow ratio
Interesting question. I started hunting many moons ago w a regular crossbow shooting 100gr spitfires. Love those broad heads. Started w aluminum arras but kept bending and denting them in pratice. When the ACC (Beeman?) came out I swallowed hard and bought a dozen, loved em! For me they were way mor...

Re: Iwom Hunter Suit
Saw this thread and had to jump in. As time goes on the "cold" sets get a bit harder, on top of that the last few years of deer rifle season have been c-o-l-d. Over the years I've seen the adds for the Heater Body suit?, almost bought one 3 years ago but then talked myself out of it as I t...

Re: The RIGHT way to gut a deer!
Actually a pretty neat way to go about it. Sometimes I gut them in the woods and sometimes I do it at the ranch. It's nice to gut at the ranch at times as there is water there and blood (and whatever!) is a lot easier to wash off when it's still fresh and damp if you know what I mean. I also core th...

Re: Zeiss on Capt. Morgan
Mike, It's been said already but my first thought was dang those are high mounts! I know your not the "Stiff Necked" type so we will go with the herniated discs! I reallllly like the reticle on that scope, especially the fact that they put the yardage next to the chevron. I've got a Hawke ...

Another Michigander, nice! Originally from the "Thumb" area but worked dragged me kicking and screaming out to the communist state of IL. Great state for outdoors but seriously controlled by city of Chicago and really weird deer hunting laws. In Michigan you can walk to any counter that se...

Re: Micro pops !
If it makes the noise as your letting up on the cocking rope there is good chance its co.i g from the trigger group/housing when the string load is settling on it. Remove trigger, look for any burrs or foreign mtter that may stop it from seating solid an reinstall. If still there swap w the trigger ...
