Thanks for the ideas and input. Sorry for the slow response as I have been at the hospital a few days with my wife. She is going to be ok.
Thanks and God Bless,
Kevin

Portable Hunting Blind Waterproofing
I've only owned two blinds in my life. An Ameristep (a cheaper one) and a Barronett Pentagon. The Pentagon is hands down the best of the two. What I am trying to figure out is what I could spray the top with to help seal it from the rain. It doesn't leak much but would like it to not leak through at...

Re: Ground blinds owners do you?
To tie it down I actually made some stakes out of 1/4" steel rod. I cut them 16"-18" long, bent about 3" over to form an "L" shape, then welded a fender washer about an inch down from the top. I put the washer on so when the rods are pushed into the ground they make con...

Re: Shoot Stick
If you are hunting from a ground blind then check out the Caldwell DeadShot Field Pod. I've used one for a couple years now and absolutely love it. I believe it is the closest thing you will find that is as solid as a shooting bench. Light, pack-able, and very user friendly. My nine year old grandso...

Matrix String
Good Morning All, I have an Excalibur Matirx 355 and I don't have a spare string on hand and thinking that I should. Should I just buy an Excalibur string or should I look another direction? (I tried doing a site search for "string" but it wouldn't search for it as it was to popular) Any i...

Re: ditching blazers
I didn't read all the posts but I didn't see you mention sanding the veins where they glue. I had the same problem when I first starting shooting veins but that problem was completely solved by sanding the veins.

Re: Tree stand vs blind
I have always hunted from hang on type stands until last year when I bought my first ground blind so I could take my 7 yr old grandson hunting with me. I have fallen in love with a ground blind. The properties I hunt have all been timbered at some point and finding a "good" tree with some ...

Swhacker Success/Failure
I shoot factory Diablo's with 125gr. Swhacker's out of my Matrix 355. Last week I shot a buck that was slightly quartering toward me a 20yards. I intentionally shot it in the center of the left shoulder. I seen the arrow disappear and the deer went about 30 yards and dropped. Shooting out of a groun...

Re: Swhacker broadheads
I'm green to crossbow hunting as I only started last year. Shot one doe at 20yds broad side with complete pass through and buried about half the head in a maple tree. Head stayed in tact and did well. The blood trail looked like Freddie Kruger had been in the woods. I shoot the 125gr with 2 1/4"...

Re: Blood Tracking Lights--Again
Not a light but i put peroxide in a spray bottle. Will make even the slightest blood or body fluid show up foaming white just like it does on a cut on your finger. Probably about one of the cheapest and most effective things you can use.
