Re: Good bye my friendly companion.

Ron sorry to hear that !! The best breed on the planet. mine is now 10 and has had a bad left acl for the last 4 years limps around when she first stands up. I started a new pup this fall and when they play together you wouldn't know her leg hurts until they are done screwing around. Good luck I can...

Re: How many days have you bow hunted for Deer this season?

Due to a leg and back injury only got out 7 times no longer than 3 hours at a time as walking ,sitting and standing were all a challenge. I ended up with Bambi's dad shot with the Micro/RamCat combo and then shot Bambi and his mom during the rifle season, so the freezer is full and if not for my son...

Re: G5 Deadmeat Expandables performance?

I would echo what Keith and Dan said you have something else going on if the RamCat's don't fly true. I see no difference out to 40yds versus my FPs. My son shot a nice 10pt this past weekend (vintage 335 micro) and hit next to last rib on a qrt away shot took out a lung sliced the heart and cut the...

Re: Decoy types

we have a scare face, miss November and a dreamy doe. I would rate the dreamy doe the best easy to transport, simple to set up and when they disappear as a buck moves it's disappearance I think acts like movement to the buck much like using silhouettes for geese as the birds circle their view change...

Re: Thoughts on deer decoys

been using a miss November with a good smear of ever calm for the last 2 years decoys works pretty good. I think the best is the Montana silhouettes they are great, also very easy to pack in and out and set up IMO

Re: Shot Placement On A Bear

Keith, here is a direct quote from the article " By aiming farther back and at the middle of the bear, from top to bottom", That the middle I was referencing stay off the shoulder

Re: Shot Placement On A Bear

Wow let's debate what middle means nose to a$$ or shoulder to hip . I obviously have just been extremely lucky on my bear kills . Just stay off the shoulder and I would agree quarter away . After all the beard will make up the difference

Re: Shot Placement On A Bear

Keith as you know I've been in a bunch of bear kill's and I always tell guys both lungs that's for bow or rifle . Remember, when you look at a bear you have 5" of hair on top and 5" of hair on the bottom so watch how high or low you go that's why you hear middle /middle.

Re: Acorn crop?

The white oak's bark is light gray in color and flakey very similar to the chestnut oak and burr which all three will cross pollinate with each other. The leaves have rounded lobes. The white oak nuts are typically the first to fall. The animals preferred acorn as it has much less tannin and thus is...
