getting out of hunting

For the last few years my physical condition and financial situation has gone down and gotten to the point where I can no longer reasonably hunt. so I have been looking into getting rid of my hunting gear firearms and crossbow and wanted to ask here what should expect to get in Ontario for my Excali...

Re: Forearm hand saver for Exo series bows

Nice! I added aluminum angles to mine to prevent fingers getting to to the triangle of death. Posted it a few years ago here https://www.excaliburcrossbow.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?p=599391#p599391 They still have not come off despite hunting in extreme conditions, work perfectly and cost almost noth...

Re: Metal Frame Axiom Crossbow

A great Crossbow! I have one and have not been disappointed. Not blazing fast, but exceptionally dependable. My thoughts are when you need a tool you pick one the will get the job done and take any reasonable punishment what will occur in the field and still work as it should.

Re: New Xbow for 2021

These types of crossbows have been around since the 4th century BC. They were siege weapons and real useless. Looking at the design drawings I am not impressed. Twice the parts so twice the problems. The recurve limb CB was supposed to be simple and they threw the KISS principle out the window with ...

Re: Will a Matrix 330 riser work on a Matrix 405

As far as I know the risers and parts are all the same only the rail is longer or shorter and trigger mech might be different on the most powerful models.

BD400 questions

My brother just bought a used Ecal BD400 ($600 plus shipping) and he got very little with the bow. A cocking rope, 3 arrows, 2 Boltcutter broad heads (weight unknown), a field point and one arrow broke getting the bow out of the closet which makes me concerned over the safety of the used arrows as t...

Re: micro limbs on a matrix

I imagine you are looking for more performance. There are a lot of older prematrix (exo) bows that were frankenbowed with matrix and middleton limbs/risers for high FRS I believe some were into the 420 FPS range. considering all the limb problems in the high power designs (which are probably due to ...

Re: Safety on or off?

I was always worried about XB safety while Cocking the crossbow and loading it (maybe a little too much, but maybe not after seeing some of the injuries that can occur). I like my fingers for some strange reason so as soon as it is cocked the safety goes on regardless of what I am doing and after th...

Re: 1 and 2 while hunting

While I prefer not to have to squat while hunting I have had to on many occasions and usually have not noticed any change in activity in game animals. Peeing is a different story all together. The first time I had to pee while bear hunting while in an tree stand I actually had a bear come to the tre...

Re: Is it my imagination? Re:2018 products

I was thinking that we need to start a Excal owners support group and 12 step program for all of the folks who have owned pretty much every Excal ever made. LOL :D It looks like we may have a few volunteers here! I still want a matrix 405. maybe in 20 years when I can find one cheap. ROFL like that ...
