Re: String strand loose...I know I need a new string...

Thanks for the help everyone. Yes the original string shipped from the factory did have some twists in it (I never added any) I've now replaced it with another excalibur matrix string. Got 10 twists in it and it's cocked and hopefully stretching out a bit as we speak. With any luck I'll have a chanc...

Re: String strand loose...I know I need a new string...

Being that you never added twists, what is your brace height set at? I can't believe that you have never made any brace height adjustment due to the amount of stretch the factory strings go through... The new strings are made shorter so that they are not imbedded into the REDS when the customer rec...

Re: String strand loose...I know I need a new string...

I don't use the rope cocker because I am weak. And my husband wasn't handy to do it for me.
This is the stock string from excalibur and I never added twists as it came from the factory.
Is this the consensus that as we get our bows we add extra twists?

Re: Help me mod my 380

Great suggestions. A string is on the list for sure. I may wait till Boo gets his stuff out of boxes...but then I hope my stock string makes it till then. I like the look of the Dr. Stirrup for sure hoping I see one in person at some point. In the mean time plasti dip looks great! I was going to go ...

Re: String strand loose...I know I need a new string...

Shot to unload and that was fine. Haven't had a chance to look at it since but I plan to put on my spare string and shoot that in. Also realized I wasn't clear in my post. The string has a strand that is snapped and both loose ends are twisting away from the string. And no no twists in it. Brace hei...

Re: String strand loose...I know I need a new string...

if it is just one strand shoot it , did you touch it with a broadhead no reason for one strand to break where is it at on the bow Thanks yes it looks like one string only. Didn't touch a broadhead as those are always in the quiver. I did have to put it over my shoulder in the hike in...nothing real...

String strand loose...I know I need a new string...

So I'm sitting in my stand when I think what's that on my bow string...I think it's a leaf or something but no there's a loose strand on the string. A disappointment yes (may have 20 shots on it) but I have a replacement string BUT my bow is cocked and I'm sitting in my stand. I generally shoot at a...

Help me mod my 380

Ok finally got my 380 sighted in. What fun to shoot. I'd like to do a few of the simple mods I've heard about. I've read about using shrink wrap on the arrow retaining spring. Any special hints to this or just regular old shrink-wrap? Wrapping the stirrup, what have you guys used? Any other simple l...

Re: Excal C2 Crank Pros n Cons

Just got one myself. I think it works quite well actually. Other than the annoyance of having an extra thing in my bag I like it.
I haven't used to much yet but already find it pretty natural.

Re: Dr. Stirrup use versus stock stirrup

I think with the higher poundage bows (M355-405,Micro), the Dr Stirrup stirrup helps and both feet are needed for a more consistent pull. To me, the stirrup is a significant advantage. I can cock the 380 & 405 with less back strain. This is really encouraging to hear. Sometime before next seaso...

With any luck somebody local will have one I can try at some point over the next year or I get a deer this year. Nothing to justify spending $ like meat in the freezer.
