9pt Down: First Excal Deer

Hello everyone, This is my first deer taken with an Excal (Vortex). I had only hunted this stand site once prior to harvesting him. The first time I put out a Renzo decoy buck and he came in and snorted at the decoy for 20 minutes...never could get a shot. This past Sunday evening (a week later) I g...

Thanks guys...I spoke to one of Dan's employees. They're putting new pads in the mail!

I'm shipping the defected pad to Dan Miller so they can take a look at it.

I appreciate your help!

Dissipator Problem

I have a new Vortex and have not shot it yet. I put the dissipator pads on this evening and one of the screw holes in the pads does not thread with any of the screws. In fact, all four screws just slip right down the threaded hole?? I emailed the "marketing dude"...I'll see what he says ab...

If you hunt on public property than I would go with a Summit (specifically the Viper)...it's quite, easy to get on the tree and easy to pack-up. Very light and way more comfortable than the LoneWolf climbers. If you're hunting on private property then I would put up a 20' ladder or fixed tree stand....

Great news! I used to shoot compounds for years, but as my father got older he was struggling to pull back his bow. He decided it was time to try out a crossbow...we do everything together; therefore, I bought one too! I soon found out that once you go xbow you never go back!

It's not meant for mud slinging...more of a easy way of building each individuals personal brand on the forum. You may give someone 'props' for giving you information on a specific item, hunting scenarios, pics, etc...

Props

I'd like to give props to Don (Boo) and Craig (Greywolf) for hooking me up! Great, classy guys!!

Moderators...you should put up a new forum titled "Props"; so we can give shout outs to each other on here. We're a band of brothers :!:

Advice on which bow to purchase...

My father and I are planning to purchase two new bows this summer. We're willing to pay for the best, but want the right bow for the environment. We hunt with climbing treestands in pretty thick cover...usually with an open shot of only 20 yards. Anything beyond that...there's a high risk we'll hit ...
