Re: O/T Weekend Goose hunt

Looks like fun. Before you know it, your son will be in the blind next to you dropping them with his own shotgun. Enjoy the upcoming seasons.

Re: Help Restore Crossbow Use.

Another response. This one from Andy. Thank you for your e-mail concerning the use of crossbows at the archery range at E. T. Seaton Park in the City of Toronto. This archery range, we believe, is the only municipal unsupervised facility available to the public of its kind in Canada. Rules and safet...

Join the club Buddy! Your're going to love it. I've had this one for 3 years now and not a problem to date. Don't worry about the dirt, they clean up nice after a good wash :D .

Re: would you shoot one?????

It is a personal choice. I typically pass on does with young ones, even though they can survive on their own. Last year I only had two days to hunt, so I took a yearling. I was waiting for the doe to clear some brush when the little one caught me, so I put the excal on him instead.

Re: home made BH target..........

I made one with similar material and found it stopped the broadhead and arrow fine, but was a bugger to pull out. Try some lube on the arrows before you shoot them and it may help.

Re: Help Restore Crossbow Use.

Here is the response I got from Rob Ford. A typical politician response which successfully managed to say a lot, yet sit on the fence and not address the issue. Seems like a canned response sent out by one of his helpers. Good luck with this fight. Hi Steve Thank you so much for taking the time to s...

Re: First Black Powder

I will give the Blackhorn 209 a try. For now I am using IMR White Hots. This is the first gun I have ever bought without actually putting my hands on it to get a feel for it. I was very pleased when I took it out of the box and put it to my shoulder. It's not hard to tell that it comes from a qualit...

Re: New pics with Cuddeback

Just put a Cuddeback out in front of my stand on Tuesday. Very happy with the image quality and trigger speed/sensitivity so far. Now I just need some 4 legged visitors to make an appearance.

Re: First Black Powder

Not sure of the range. The rifle range I was at is 100yds. I was shooting the fibre optic sights at the time. I just recieved the scope base and mount last week, so I haven't dialed it in yet.

First Black Powder

Decided to move away from a shotgun for the controlled hunt and got myself a muzzle loader. It's the Thompson Center Triumph Bone Collector - 50 cal. They have them in camo, but I liked the grey/black better. http://www.hunt101.com/data/500/medium/Sept_22_2010_042.JPG I took it out to the range and ...

Re: Cool September breeze today ...

Great pictures RJ.

Getting pumped about the season as well. The bow season starts here in NS on Sept 25th. I will have to pull out the Mathews because they don't allow crossbows in the archery season yet.
