Our groups that I have hunted with have always left the hide on. I was talking to a local hunter and their group always cut the legs off[4] to get rid of the tarsal glands and for easier transporting and skin the deer while they are still warm. Claims the hudes pull off like a glove. He says their m...

Would like to see one for myself. The video looks too good and the girl looks too smug. I think the cross bows will tell a different storey. Prove me wrong please.

We feel for you. If you have to "get even" do it legally as you say. It will give you far more satisfaction to win and not have to lower yourself to their standards. The best of luck to you and your family.

Get rid of the vermin as soon as you can before they hole up before winter. In the spring you may have five or six to deal with. If you know anyone who eats the meat or will take the hide go for it. I usually just shoot them and plant them in the garden. We have had a few that had an odd behavour.Th...

Seeing this is a more oppinion pole than anything I have to say in our hunt group there were far more deer escaped from the slugs than the buckshot. It has been we are split on buckshot and slugs. We use 2 3/4 standard slugs to 3" sabbots and for two years we had a 10 gauge using slugs. All got...

how long to wait before tracking?

I have just finished a week of good deer hunting with shotguns. Usually we wait about 1/2 hour after shooting a deer before tracking it. This was the norm. After this week I have changed my policy. A deer was knocked down and laying on the trail, :P maybe not totally dead but down and no movement. T...

Dorchester sportsman day

I was thankful that we went to the first sportsman day held at "Austins Folly". We talked to a bunch of nice people, learned a few things and had a good time, also won a very nice jacket as a door prise donated by the fishing team of Fritz and Ryan Beck. It is very seldom I win anything so...

Thanks Elf for your comment.I have used the crankeroo for decocking. Yes I will admit it is another thing that could cause injury if not using care. Going hunting on the wifes birthday or anniversary will give you a lot more pain. With every thing there is a chance of problems.Hunt hard play safe.
