First day out today and bagged a Jake. Shot him at 8 yards distance. Just about blew his lower beak right off with a 3 inch shell. This was my first turkey hunt with a shotgun. Got 1 each year with my crossbow since I started 2 years ago. That's it, I'm going back to my Exomag! Grizzly-Papa

Continuing with a positive thread, the CO replied to my e-mail, thanking me for my note and wishing me the very best during the turkey hunt.

Nothing negative here! :D

I was at the hunt camp yesterday enjoying the mild spring day and evicting the winter mice when just after lunch a CO and his deputy pull in to the driveway. First reaction was "Now What???" :? The CO proceeded to chat up my buddy, son and I like we were best of buddies and got especially ...

I too drive a company vehicle and do not pay for the gas at the pump but guess what? The cost of doing business by all companies is not absorbed when there are increases in fuel prices but passed on to the consummer. I end up paying for the greed of these multi nationals just like everyone...

Sorry to hear that you were unable to locate that buck during hunting season J. Never easy losing a wounded animal. We pretty well have all been there whether we admit to it or not.

Chalk it up to experience. You are that much wiser today.

Best wishes for the fall hunt.
