Re: Swhacker 150 crossbow broadhead

I don't use the bands with swhackers as they stretch if bumped and will fall off if you're not careful. I use small black rubber bands. Put it over once, twist it, and pull it back over. I've killed numerous deer like this over the past few years with the 125 grain head. I'm considering the 150 grai...

Re: Do Air Brakes or Reds Affect Speed?

Appreciate the info. I ordered the REDS last night. Leaning towards not getting the brakes at this point.

Do Air Brakes or Reds Affect Speed?

I've been shooting my Excal with no accessories for years, but lately I've been debating whether or not to purchase the air brakes and the REDS. I want to know from someone with firsthand knowledge whether either of these affect arrow speed. Also, does either produced a noticeable difference in vibr...

Re: Serving Issues

I'll definitely send it. Much appreciated vixenmaster! It'll be coming from Joshua Johnson out of Ruston, Louisiana. When you send it back send me a brochure and/or some string prices too. Thanks again.

Re: Serving Issues

How do I polish the latches? And what do I use? I feel like a newbie. I'm familiar with crossbows, especially excals, but I've ran into a few issues such as this that I've never heard of.

Re: Serving Issues

Will try it out. I've been using the excalibur brand lube. Just putting a little on the rail and then spreading it with my finger. If this continues I'm going to lose it. Lol.

Re: Serving Issues

And I'll definitely be sure to turn the string counterclockwise when tuning the bow. I can't remember if I did or didn't the previous times I put new strings on.

Re: Serving Issues

It is separating at the jaws. Right where the jaws catch the string when the bow is cocked is where the separation occurs. And am I not supposed to lube the rails? Seriously asking because I thought that was what I was supposed to be doing every 25 shots or so.

Serving Issues

I have an Excalibur Matrix 350LE and love it. The combination of the bow and 125 grain swhacker broadheads make for a supremely accurate and deadly combination. The issue I have though is with the serving. Where the string is held back the serving completely spaces out exposing the bare string. I tr...

Re: To Shoot or Not to Shoot???

At that distance I'd probably shoot. I understand that everyone might not feel the same as I do though. Also, from my experience, if you aim just a few inches above the shoulder they drop in their tracks once hit. Now I typically always aim for lungs but in that situation I'd aim slightly high on th...

Re: What arrow weight do you prefer?

I prefer a 375 grain arrow. I use the Diablo bolts with a 175 grain swhacker broadhead and I've had nothing but good luck with the combination.
