I believe the idea is to keep the equipment as simple as possible. Dry firing isn't an equipment problem, it's a people problem. I would hate to miss a nice buck because my anti-dryfire mechanism failed and prevented me from launching an arrow. I believe the theory is the same for the manual safety...

Dryfires damage almost always are way visible, specialy on the limbs and to loose bolts. (experienced with this - 4 times with one exocet 200 (first one the limbs was broken) and 2 times with one exocet 175 - nothing happened) Check the bolts for being tighten and the limbs throughly (specially the ...

If you are using a flemish design the string will be fine, but please consider upping the number of strands to give a bigger diameter. Let us know how you make out, this is one I haven't tried.
