I would like to see Excalibur come up with an equivalent to the Savage Accutrigger mechanism, where the trigger pull can be adjusted to whatever setting you want,to as low as 1.5 lbs.
Now you would have the Rolls Royce of triggers!

Re: What spine size Easton XX75 for an Exomax?
I use 2216 and 2219 with a Phoenix, and you are much more draw than mine.
I would suggest 125 gr broadheads, min, and 2" blazer vanes for starters.
That should throw them out there pretty good!

Re: What is the best Dehydrater out there?
I bought an Excalibur last year, and found that it seemed to take quite a long time to dehydrate the meat that I put in it. It worked out fine in the end,but wondered if anyone has ever tried just an ordinary convection oven, set at say 150F or so,and see how that dehydrates the meat? I have an electr...

Re: More Snake Oil
You are dead right Bob! I bought an EMF tester to make sure gas powered machines like chain saws would not knock out my Pacemaker, and when I tested myself with the instrument,it showed "nuttin honey"!! As they say,"don't eat that stuff Elmer,it's horse poop!"LOL!! This is Snake O...

Best stuff around is WD-40!
Stands for Water Displacement-40th experiment before they found the right formula!
Spray everything in sight and out of sight too!
Should prevent any rust from developing too!

Re: O/T Hunting Boots???
Best overall hiking/hunting boot for early season that I have ever found is the Merrell Leather/Goretex boot-it is a low cut style (approx 6-8")with good ankle supports.
These are great as a hiking and hunting boot, and are not insulated, but breath very well,so sweating in them is not a problem.

Re: anyone make brass inserts
I did not have any hot melt,so I used a two part epoxy,on both the brass insert and the normal threaded insert and let them sit point down until cured. I have not had any come out yet,but that's not to say it might not happen! Main thing was it allowed me to use fixed blade broadheads,a problem I wa...

Re: anyone make brass inserts
I bought some 5/16" threaded brass stock, for use inside the front end of my 2216 and 2219 Easton aluminum bolts. A 1/4" length weighs approx 25 grains. I set them in glue, and push them in behind the normal threaded insert,to add extra weight to the front end. Pretty cheap solution, and chan...

CROSSBOWS TO BE LEGAL FOR 2009-10 ARCHERY DEER AND BEAR SEASONS HARRISBURG – The Pennsylvania Board of Game Commissioners today voted down a proposal that would have placed restrictions on crossbow use for the 2009-10 seasons. The 4-4 tie vote is not sufficient to give the proposed rulemaking the fi...

I have the Garmin Etrex Legend Hcx,and that model works well in heavy cover. The Vista model has the compass that works when you are stopped, whereas with the Legend, you need to be walking. If I had to do it over again,I would go for the Vista Hcx. Great unit-we had to leave a deer in the deep woods ...

ARROW WEIGHTS
If you go to the Easton website,an XX75 bolt in 2216 size has 12.0 grains per inch, and a 2219 bolt has 13.8 grains per inch.
You can find weights for all the arrow shafts that they manufacture.
Hope that helps.
