Re: mossberg slug gun

I am not a frequent poster on here but do follow postings quite frequently. I have the Remington 870 with the cantilever mounted scope and have found accuracy is directly affected by the speed of the the sabot slug used. It settles in very nicely with slugs around 1500-1600 fps and will spray anythi...

Re: Bringing deer accross Mich/Ont border

Sorry fellas! I sort of glossed over the regs to deal with the return of deer parts. I knew that you could take items to a taxidermist anywhere to prepare the horns and hide if someone wants to bring them back to Ontario. If that has changed,I was not aware of this. I have two deer heads that were p...

Re: Bringing deer accross Mich/Ont border

I have hunted in northwestern PA for 40 years and since they put the new regulations in a few years back, you are not allowed to bring a deer back whole. Since that time,we butcher the deer up before bringing it back. Don has it spelled out correctly in that you cannot bring horns, hide and spine back...

Re: cocking the crossbow with a disability

AMEN to all that! I even adapted a golf pull cart to hold my bow while walking the trails near my cabin in PA. Hundreds of old oil and logging trails that are ideal for trekking through the woods. Carrying the bow for any great distance puts pressure on my degenerated discs and pulling it around on ...

Re: cocking the crossbow with a disability

By far the simplest way to cock your bow is with an adapter that replaces the crank on the crankaroo, and attached to a battery operated drill.
Can't get much easier than that!

Re: cocking the crossbow with a disability

Not sure if I am missing something, but are you aware of the crankaroo? I have some lower back problems and even though I can still cock my 175lb Phoenix by hand, prefer to use the crankaroo most of the time. Easy to mount in place and remove and all that is required is a half a dozen turns of the c...

Re: Triggertech or reworked stock trigger?

I had the trigger assembly from my Phoenix worked on by Boo several years ago and it is the sweetest pull you could ever ask for!
I have a Savage .223 with an Accutrigger, and have to say that the bow has the better release!
Amen!

Re: daco parts

Tom,I would like to find an esthetically reasonably good looking limb, and this Scorpion would be relegated to being a wall hanger. I know what they are like to fire as I did have the Hornet out for a test shot or two! I am spoiled by the job that Don did on the trigger on my regular shooting bow,the...

Re: daco parts

Guys,I have an almost complete Astro Daco Hornet that I would be more than willing to offer in some sort of trade for the same Scorpion limb. I do not have a string for the Hornet. Good old Digger was the one who gave me the Scorpion stock prior to his passing and it is in literally mint condition. ...

Re: Excalibur Sound Suppression: S5 vs. Dissipator Bars

I had a Phoenix with the dissipator bars and added the S5's at a later date. I definitely had a sound reduction with the stops so I decided to take the dissipator bars off and cannot honestly say that taking them off made any substantial difference to the sound level. Taking them off made a differen...

Re: New limbs for Phoenix

Just a suggestion, but my thoughts on installing new,or modified limbs is the wrong way to go! You want to learn what your bow will do with the factory limbs,so that anytime you are in any type of competition, you can shoot exactly the same. For a long life target, use a Tvek bag filled with small pie...

Re: Daco Hornet crossbow

Answering two points at once-it looks to me as if the limbs fastened directly to the end of the wooden stock on my Scorpion. Tom would know for sure! And yes,Pyd,that was me that contacted you a few years ago about this same topic! Years ago,I had a custom string made to fit that 36" limb,by a ...
