Fox, My understanding is that the City of Ottawa deems a crossbow to be a firearm and therefore treat it as though it were a rifle, shotgun etc... (see "Definitions and Interpretations" under point #1). I spoke to the Ottawa police a couple of years back and they confirmed this to me. That...

Fox,

Below is the link for the "Discharge of Firearms" in the By Law section of City of Ottawa, it appears to be outdated, but it is the current version on the site and may prove helpful.

I shoot 100 grain Spitfire broadheads with my Vortex, haven't had one open or stray off target yet. The exit hole is impressive to say the least.

There's an apple orchard on Jockvale Rd near the Stonebridge community, I just picked up some apples this past weekend...lots there. Hope that's helpful.

I have the same Ameristep 2 person tent and am happy with it. I had 12 turkey walk alonside the tent while deer hunting last fall. I also had a young buck walk 10 feet in front of the tent while staring into the front opening, he then walked 30 ft away and bedded down. It's not much of a "2 per...

I also insure my Harley with Riders Plus and have found them to be very competetive with their rates, they will not however insure my Honda as it's on their blacklist, for that I've turned to Dalton Timmis which may be another option for you. They can be reached at 1-866-472-0721. Hope that's helpful.

I am also crazy over anything that has an engine, here is snapshot of my 911, it will also be coming out of storage in the next couple of weeks (once all the snow has melted!)

Another Turkey broadhead question...

I've had good luck last season with the spitfire 100 grain mechanical broadhead during deer season, have any of you used a spitfire or other mechanical with a grappler for turkey? I wonder if a fixed blade broadhead/grappler combination might be better... any feedback is much appreciated.

Thanks.

Today was a beautiful sunny day, still too much snow but the prospect of riding is exciting. I hope to be taking my bikes out of storage in the next couple of weeks. Ride safe. http://i289.photobucket.com/albums/ll213/Heritage1_photo/IMG_1356.jpg http://i289.photobucket.com/albums/ll213/Heritage1_ph...

They are carbon and have a glossy finish when compared to the Gold Tips.

I was at a bow shop last week and saw the Easton bolts in Excalibur packaging, we weighed them on a scale, they were all within 1-2 grains...nice!
