Re: Roly is in Crossbow Magazine

Way to go Rick!!!! Unlike most of these guys I had the privilege of putting my hands on this exceptional trophy (when I scored it), and its truly outstanding. If it hadn't grown either of its small stickers, it would have qualified for Boone and Crockett. I'll see if I can find Crossbow mag, but in ...

Re: Great day in bush, passed on a 6point

Based on the pictures, the numbers you gave me earlier and my educated guestimates, I'd say you have a deer that's crowding 160 net.

I wonder if I can arrange a trip down your way in 59 days so I can give him an official score.

Again - WAY TO GO!!!!!!

My 2012 Crossbow Moose Hunt

We originally planned to leave Ottawa for our moose hunt (archery - cow tag only) on Friday Sept 14th, but family issues caused us to delay leaving ‘till 1:00 PM on the 15th. We arrived at our campsite north of Kapuskasing at noon on the 16th and spent the rest of the day setting up camp. We were ra...

Re: HEY ROLY!

A belated Happy Birthday Rick.

I left for Bass Pro on the 10th and have been fishing since then so I missed the notice.

Just remember, no matter how old you get, you'll never be older than me.

Re: Ontario Moose Draw Results

My cow tag arrived in today's mail!

A reminder that the antlerless draw results should be available tomorrow. I'm pretty confident, since I hunt in WMU 47, and we've had a 100% draw in the last few years. I also have an additionakl archery doe tag in that zone.

Ontario Moose Draw Results

Why not post your successes (or failures) in the Ontario moose draw here?

I was successful in getting an archery cow moose tag in WMU 24 in my group of two.

Re: A Couple of Crossbow Moose

I realy envy your trophies. Roly I wish those were my trophies!!! I'm a measurer, and had the privelage of measuring them at trophy shows. I may be telling stories out of school here, but I understand the second moose will be on the cover of June's Crossbow Magazine. Though I haven't taped it for S...

Re: A Couple of Crossbow Moose

Rick, Thanks for answering back. Do you know any reputable Moose Guides?? They are a massive animal. I would love to go hunting for them. Greg R. Greg: Sorry, I can't be of much help there. As a resident I participate in do-it-yourself hunts. The Ontario Trophy Bucks forum has a lot of links to out...

Re: A Couple of Crossbow Moose

They are nice! OK ,who wants to invite me on a moose hunt up there??? Does anyone know what a non resident tag costs?? Pabowdude60: Sorry! - I missed your question earlier. Last year, NR moose licences in Ontario were $438.28 - They're probably a little higher this year. In this provinc NR moose hu...

A Couple of Crossbow Moose

Here are a couple of moose I've measured in recent weeks that were taken with crossbows last season. The first was measured in Niagara falls, and was shot south of Kapuskasing. It scores 187+. http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a31/Rick_Teal/007.jpg This second one was shot near Manitouage (SP?) and w...

Bass Pro - Big Buck Event

I was a measurer at the big buck event that Bass Pro holds in conjunction with its spring fishing and boating event. It was held this past weekend at their Vaughan Mills (Toronto) store. I had the honour of officially measuring Big Bux! Quite the deer! For those of you not from Ontario, this buck ha...

Re: My 2010 Archery Moose Hunt

roly: Good to hear from you! It was a very exciting half hour or so (I wasn't watching my clock) measuring right up there with the day I had 3 bulls at 45 yds and missed. I gotta stick one of them eventually. I guess Linda and Patty have been talking, so we may be getting together next year. 8)

My 2010 Archery Moose Hunt

This year we had a group of 7 hunters with a bull and cow tag. We started hunting in an area we’d hunted before and had experienced a degree of success with answers and sightings, but no success. Some of the gang saw a moose on a clear cut at night, and there proved to be a lot of sign as well, so M...
