TAC, I don't know what you're problem is with the picture I've posted. If you think this is spam well then I suggest you quit your photography job or whatever it is you do in life and become a priest for a living. If this was spam Peter would have promptly removed it from the forum and I would not ...

I'll admit that I only lurk here now on occasion but I have to make sure I understand something here. And I'm certainly no prude and can understand jokes... Links to spam by spammers are bad. Pics of scantically clad women and cat-torture image/jokes are ok though as long as they are posted by regul...

I simply cannot believe that an editor of a crossbow magazine would even consider that title. If I saw that title in a crossbow magazine, I would certainly be questioning whether or not I would purchase another issue. And as someone on the editorial staff of a magazine, now I know why I remain anony...

Well, right now it's raining. It's supposed to rain this evening and tomorrow and then p/c to sunny the rest of the week with highs of about 10°C and lows of around freezing. Want an interesting link? The website below (valid for the Burk's Falls/Sundridge/Kearney areas) shows what the cloud cover w...

Thanks guys. I was sent some info regarding the pics and it appears that this doe possibly has a hydrocyst. The link below explains what that is and says that the meat is still safe to eat. I nonetheless suspect that if I had a doe tag I would be passing on this deer. The thought of eating meat that...

In the woods, at work, pretty much everywhere. ;)

Seriously though, I've been pretty busy the past few months and usually just lurk through a few boards and rarely post on any due to the lack of time to come back and read replies at a later date.

Doe with a large tumour

This young doe was on the edge of my forest today. She wasn't walking very quickly and was only able to bound away for about 5 seconds before having to walk again. http://members.aol.com/auroraimages/doe.jpg http://members.aol.com/auroraimages/doe2.jpg http://members.aol.com/auroraimages/doe3.jpg

Thanks for the post! I've not seen the big buck since early summer although I've got a monster doe w/2 fawns hanging around the property. She has to be related to the buck because she dwarfs all of the other does I've seen. She came within 15 yds of me tonight and although she couldn't see me, she k...

Ahhh...a little more thinking on my part and I would have figured that out. I was thinking along the lines of that not all areas experience significantly different tide levels during a spring tide (but obviously some do, perhaps especially in some areas known for clam digging). Hello Garry....back t...

Huh? Can you explain this to me? (not the clam part)

Unfortunately I'm nowhere near the ocean at the moment.

Yes, scopes do gather light. Whether it's a rifle scope, binoculars or telescope, light is collected from the front objective and refracted down to the focusing point. If light was not gathered, there would be no need for different sizes of scopes (ie: 30mm, 40mm, 50mm, etc). All things being equal,...

TAC, I hope you weren't referring to the options I suggested, as I don't find them to be offensive (even if they are misdirected). Sorry, by suggestions I meant those that advocate breaking the law, not yours. I should have proof-read better before sending the post. By the way, welcome back. Thanks...
