Re: scope speed ring question

I've had my Vortex w/Lumizone for a few years. Sighting in was a breeze as for once, I read and followed the instructions. My bolts are all between 415-417 gms. I set the ring at 300 and it's never been moved. Dead center shot after shot after shot after shot.......

Re: I'M HOMEE!!!

It's always great to get home, welcome back!! Sounds like Basic Training has'nt changed in 40 years. I remember my visit to the gas shack inSeptember, 1971, it's something you won't forget. After the gagging, puking, and burning eyes, we got gassed on the 2 mile march back to the company area to see...

Re: Arrow wraps

Onestringer is the way to go. I had some made with the Excalibur logo on them and they look cool. Also, got some 10" long solid color wraps and cut them in half with a razor box cutter. That'll give you double the amount of wraps and a 5" wrap is plenty long enough using 2" Blazers. I...

Re: How many?

I got my Vortex as the result of 2 friends talking about how much they like theirs. My hunting buddy neighbor has always been a compound guy but started liking the Excal when he saw how it shot and would put 'em down. Well, he didn't want to spend the $$$ on an Excal, although he can well afford it,...

Re: tender squirrel.........

I've been eating squirrels for 55 years, must have eaten a box car load. Daddy always tried to shoot the young ones, but if an old one showed up it was in the same sack. Mama always fried the young ones and made either squirrel and dumplings or squirrel and rice with the older ones. The fried front ...

Re: Horny Doe

I can see why she has never given birth!! :D Just imagine a buck coming on to her!! Last year I shot a button buck that I thought was a big ole doe. The buttons were about the size of a hickory nut. When I started to gut him, he did not have any testicles. Never saw that before. Did some research an...

Re: 15 year old killed by another hunter

TWRA does not require land owners to wear blaze orange while hunting on property that they own,, very sad when accidents like this happens ,, But I myself do not always wear the vest while hunting on our land either ,, I guess that I hope whom ever is trespassing will know what he is shooting at !!...

Re: 15 year old killed by another hunter

So very tragic! I wouldn't call this an accident but a negligent homicide! Totally uncalled for! On a side note, landowners and their children hunting on their parents land are exempt from the blaze orange requirements in Tennessee. They are also exempt from the hunter safety requirment. I expect T...

Re: wich trail cam?

Go to www.chasingame.com for reviews on just about every camera. You can also read the reviews of customer's on BPS and Cabela's web site. For the most part, the reviews on the dealer sites mirror chasingame reviews.

Re: 15 year old killed by another hunter

During "small game" season, hunters are NOT required to wear orange. During deer gun season they ARE required to wear orange. Here's the problem, squirrl season and deer season are in at the same time. The wheels of change should be rolling as we speak that ALL hunters are required to wear...

15 year old killed by another hunter

Sitting here watching the news from Knoxville, Tn. A 15 year old boy, would have been 16 on Wednesday, was hunting with his Grandfather on his land. Another hunter , 66 YEARS OLD, on an adjoining property "saw movement in thick brush" , thought it was "an animal", and shot into t...

Re: viper X strings

I use Viper X on my Vortex and really like it. Absolutely no streatch whatsoever. Turnaround time is fast; I had mine 2 days after I ordered it. I was having serving issues on the forum's favorite strings. I do not shoot my bow a lot nor do I leave it cocked for extended periods and was having separ...

Re: Processing your own deer

This is a good thread 58! What glands are they? Those are lymph nodes...look like a raw oyster...deer have them throughout their body just like we do, but most are behind the front shoulder blade. I've seen them in the bend of the rear legs. They are a filtering device associated with the circulato...

Re: Processing your own deer

My first deer weighed 105 field dressed, weighed when I dropped it off at the slaughter house. Picked up 42 pounds of meat which was less than I expected since he was shot through the rib cage. Didn't say anything, just took my little box of meat and left and have not been back. Got myself a vacuum ...
