Re: I really didnt want to put this on here but it is import

I used to subscribe to Florida Wildlife, it went under a few years ago, and every issue had a page devoted to hunting/fishing accidents. 99% of hunting accidents was shooting at "something that looked like a turkey or deer" or riding around in a truck with a loaded gun in the seat. All cou...

Re: What Brought Us to Buy an Excalibur?

When I moved to Tennessee and found out Crossbows were legal during archery season, the search was on. I have never had any interest in compound bows, just too much stuff to go wrong and needs adjustments. I have helped on some Wheelin' Sportsman hunts and one of the hunters used an Excalibur and he...

Re: Road Hunter's

Ah yes, the roadside sportsman's society. Used to be bad around here. Not as much anymore, at least not on my place. If its somewhere that its not bothering anyone, that's one thing, but to ride around and shoot deer off people's property. Not right. Too redneck even for me. :? Agree with all that ...

Re: How well do wraps hold up?

The rail will scuff the wrap some but you can lessen it by making sure the bolt hold down is not too tight. Going through a deer's rib cage can strip vanes off and bugger up the wrap.

You done good!! No smile like gettin' a deer smile.

As we say down south, his neck is swole up, he's been sniffin' girlie deer perfume, and lookin' for a fight and found one!!!

Re: Best Climber Treestand for XBow

I've used a Summit Ultimate Viper SS for 4 years and love it. It's easy to climb with, very comfortable if you plan to sit for most of a day, has an adjustable shooting rail which really helps with a crossbow or rifle, and is really well made. Do you keep the crossbow on your lap while sitting the ...

FINALLY!!! (Pictures Added)

Here in Tennessee, bow season started on 9/24 and I've sat in a tree 3-4 times a week. I've seen a couple of spike bucks but about 20 yards outside my range. To say I was getting discouraged is an understatement. Usually before now I've had one in the freezer and had to keep reminding myself, "...

Re: OT - anyone have a recipe for coon?

I've had rattlesnake which is delicious but I don't have a recipe for coon, nor do I want one. I see them as cousins to possums and armadillos. They look like a big rat with their fur coat removed.

Re: Deboned Deer

Paid $65 for my first deer to be processed. Field dressed, he weighed 105 lbs. and I picked up 42 lbs. of meat. I didn't like paying nor the amount of meat so I got a dvd on butchering deer. Got a grinder and a tenderizer (cuber), already had a vacuum sealer. I actually enjoy doing it myself as I ca...

That's why so many people retire to Florida . . .smaller deer.

Good job on the spike. :)
And no mountains, no hollers, no ravines! It's flat where I hunt.
