Re: Who'se your daddy?
I lost my Dad in 1987 to prostate cancer and like others, there are many days that something reminds me of him. He started me hunting when I was 6 or 7 by taking me with him on dove hunts. I can still hear him say, "be still, here comes one". I was his "retriever". He also took m...

Re: Excalibur T-Shirts???
Zazzle.com I had one made, my favorite is Blaze Orange long sleeve with "Ecalibur Crossbows" in Olde English print. You can pick any color t-shirt and most any color print. Only downer is you can't get the official Excalibur logo, as it's trademarked.

Re: O/T - Volume 1 Is Now Available
40 years of marriage has taught me 4 simple rules.
# 1 "Yes, ma'am"
# 2 "No, ma'am"
# 3 "I'll do better, ma'am"
# 4 If I have any questions, she will let me know.

Re: equinox vs vortex
I chose the Vortex over the Equinox at the Marketing Dude's suggestion based on my height and the fact the Vortex will kill any North American game animal. The Vortex has a 1" shorter pull, i.e. rail length and thus is easier to cock. I've never had a deer "jump the string", they are ...

Wildgame Innovations W6 @ Amazon
for $49.99. Ends today. There was a whiteout issue with this camera made before August, 2011, these have an August 22, 2011 date. A couple of guys on Chasingame's forum ordered this camera and say they are doing good. I ordered one last night, would have got 2 but someone in this house thinks the 4 ...

Re: Hair Raising & Butt orfice Puckering
That's called a 9.9 on the pucker scale.....when it releases, it goes to less than zero!!!! That's also why you should carry an extra pair of BVD's in your pack. A friend of mine runs a hog hunting business here in Tennessee, he and all guides carry a big ole hog leg on their hip. He uses a 44 mag. ...

Re: Old magazine...
I love those old magazine covers as the cover picture told the story. All of my hunting heritage is small game. In the 50's, when I started hunting with my dad, it was only squirrel, dove, and quail hunting in South Alabama. There were zero deer or turkey back then, except on the "reservation&q...

100 gr. Slick Trick Magnums w/ 2" Blazer vanes have exactly the same POI as my field points. I've used this set-up for 3 years and will stick with it.

Re: munch mounts
I have one of the Groundpounder mounts which works the same as Munch Mounts. When hunting from a tree stand, ladder or climber, I put a screw hook above my left shoulder and hang the quiver. If on the ground, just lay it next to me. I also have a homemade quiver holder that clips to the rail of my s...

Re: what did santa bring you
A millenium ladder stand, in July. Some e.c.w.c.s. base layer, in November. Some Tec4 in early December. And other stuff during the year that all counted toward Christmas. So, on Christmas morning, I put on my e.c.w.c.s, my Tec4, and sat in my ladder stand and pretended it all just came from Santa.

Dad gum, that's a big doe. They usually don't get that big in the South. I see lots of burger, chilli, spaghetti sauce, meat loaf, country fried steak, and other goodies on your table. Nice job!!!

Re: Frontal Shot?
 I'll shoot them varmits from any position but a Tx. heart shot. The only reason i don't take them is cause those guts are messy getting yuck all over the inside of the deer :D I totally agree. I don't like the smell, the mess, or ruining the tender loins with busted guts. About 3 years ago, I...

Re: Made a bad shot...
I'm glad you found him, we all know that feeling when doubt sets in whether or not you'll find him. Deer are amazing animals in what they can do when hurt. I've had a doe, double lunged, that went 300 yds and the bolt was 25 yards past her and all that was showing was the very tip of one of the vane...
