I looked at both and went with the exocet 200. The thumb hole stock on the vortex looks better. But having to take the thumb out to work the safety is more than a slight inconvienence. It takes a little longer to "get back on target" and in shooting position. The exocet is probably the bes...

Data Dots

Anyone heard of Data Dots. Microscopic information is on a little dot about the size of a pin head. You can mark all your stuff, it's hard to tell it's there unless you know to look for it. I'm not sure of the cost though.

I usually get 2 weeks to hunt. The first week and a half I'm looking for a nice buck. Then I take the first thing that walks by, usually a nice doe or BB. The chance for a big buck don't come along very often.

Thanks for the replies. I'm not sure why you can't aim at the same spot. That might be one I have to learn the hard way.

Has anyone used a product called "deerdirt"

I read about it in some magazine. Dirt impregnated with deer urine, used for making mock scrapes. I've never tried making a mock scrape before and am kind of curious.

new to crossbows...

but not hunting... I picked up a compound back in 2001 and have done very well with the bow. Nothing big, but always managed to put meat in the freezer with it. Well, it's been a little hard on the shoulder so I picked up a exocet 200 this year. Being new to shooting a crossbow, is there any major d...
