Another tip I picked up here is to tie the end loops together w/ bread tie on 'broken-in' string and carry it for a spare, bheight doesn't change as the loops can't untwist.
Great idea!
I do the same but have used a paper clip.

He shot it with his .243 Win. loaded with 100gr. Nosler Partitions which I reloaded for him before our hunt. Heck - I'm glad it wasn't much bigger.

385. Pretty big for a spring bear just out of hibernation and especially in Idaho. They put on at least 100 more pounds before denning up in the Fall.

Actually, it is a black bear. Idaho has many color phase bears: chocolate, blonde, cinnamon etc. You would have to look hard to find a black one like on the east coast.

Thanks for the compliments.

Spring Bear Idaho Hunt

Just got back from Idaho from a Spring Bear Hunt with my 2 sons. My 12 y/o got this nice bear with his .243 Win. He has had quite a first year hunting with me: pheasant, white-tail buck and bear. http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff24/aerostarp/IDAHOSPRINGBEAR2009Picture6.jpg http://i240.photobucke...

I have a bad left shoulder, even after surgery. I love my crankaroo. I can cock the crossbow with it easily under 10 seconds every time. I could never use a rope cocker anymore. You can shoot all day and never feel a thing with the crank. The placement of the string for both the rope cocker and cran...

Sorry to hear about it. I had a Bichon for 16 years who was our "child" for half of that until our first born came along. She collapsed one night at home and I gave her CPR for 15 min. while my wife drove us to the vet. She died in my arms despite all attempts to save her. Terrible night f...
