Another one bites the dust

Took a good size doe the other night, I didn't weigh her but estimate around 150lbs undressed. Went to a spot I have not hunted before and followed some deer trails in and plopped down by a tree. I sat there for two and a half hours and 5 mins after sunset I hear tromping coming my way. At first I t...

405fps crossbow

This might be old, but has anyone seen this yet.

It is being made by BowTech. I am more than happy w/my Excalibur, but I was talking to a Bowtech rep and he was telling me about this new xbo they are working on. he said it would shoot 405fps.

Looking good Wabi, too bad no squirrel, but deer season is looking good for you. I still need to dust off all my equipment and get ready for the season. I might even get one with that muzzleloader this year.

I have two Winchester 1300 pump shotguns. I wonder if this will raise the value on them.

I shot a turkey this fall with slicktricks and no arrow arrestor and I did not have a complete pass-thru. The arrow arrestor probally would have helped since it took me a while to find the bird. They are one tough bird I must say.

Thanks for everyones help on this. I ended up with a TC Omega that I found gently used and for the price that fit my budget. I am interested in the Savage also, but that will come later. I plan to do some testing with it this weekend and then try to put another deer down next week.

Does anybody here have a thumbhole stock. While I was looking at our local gun store I looked at this and it seemed to feel more natural than a conventional stock, but that model is approx. $100 more.

My Omega seem to be to muzzleloaders what Excalibur is to crossbows! Very accurate & dependable, easy to maintain, and durable. As with any muzzleloader it may take some experimenting to fing the charge/bullet combination for outstanding accuracy, but mine will shoot very tight groups (about 1&...

O/T Which muzzleloader to go with?

I am in the process of researching which muzzleloader to go with. I am leaning towards the .50 cal TC Omega, but wondered if anyone had any good/bad to say about it.

I drove by some public hunting land here at Wayne National Forest this morning and counted a dozen trucks in a small strecth. I hunted this area last year during gun season and only ran into one person, but he parked himself right across a draw from me and a buddy placing us in his line of fire and ...

Congrats!!!

I almost wacked off another last night at 4 mins till shooting time was up, then caught the glint of antlers in my scope and put the safety back on since I already got my buck. It was in the four point range.
