Re: Tennessee Hog Hunting
We don't have any here and I'm glad. They are so destructive. Gary

Re: might be some skinny deer this fall
We don't buy corn but we do buy oil sunflower seeds for the birds. We feed all year around. The price of sunflower seeds has also gone crazy. We used to get a #40 bag for $12-$15. Now they are over $20. If it goes much higher I may have to grow my own. Gary

Re: Be nice to see pic or story of your biggest deer
I moved to a new house in the country in '94. Lots of deer running around but I wasn't really a deer hunter. After a couple of years of seeing nice bucks run through my yard during rut I decided to try for one. I got a disability permit and bought an Exocet in '97. I hunted right behind my house on ...

Re: Eagle shots (pics heavy)
Super pics. If my wife saw that eagle take that fawn she would have come unglued. She loves wildlife...but not predators. She would have been shoving my .223 in my face saying "KILL HIM"!
But, we all know eagles have to eat too. I thought they just ate fish.

Re: Starter pics
You had an eagle in your yard.
That's amazing. I've only seen 2 in the last 15 yrs. here in Cent. IL. Was there food near there? A carcass? Gary

Re: Jumping string?
I read an article in a hunting magazine about jumping the string. The article had a math formula to figure what range your bow was good for. My old style Exocet, when I plugged in the numbers, gave me a figure of 16 yds. That's the maximum range that an alerted deer absolutely cannot jump the string...

Will they pay me for my corn that the "predatory deer" eat?

Re: Deer cam pics what is it ???
You need to hang some bait from a tree near your camera. A piece of meat that's gone around the bend would be perfect. A wolf would use his nose and find it. A cat, on the other hand, is a sight hunter. Along with the meat, get some chicken wings with the feathers still on and hand them too. Spread ...

25th Anniv. Excalibur?
I heard that a local guy bought an Excalibur. I saw him yesterday and asked him about it. He didn't know what model it was but said it's a 25th Anniversary model. :? I've never heard of that one. Was it just one model or did they make a 25th Anniv. in all the models? He paid a bunch for the thing. G...

A friend of mine owned a cabin that was in the shadow of a 1200' TV tower. In the fall you could walk around under the tower an pick up the dead ducks that hit the guy wires. It seemed like most, if not all of the birds were hitting the wires at night. Gary

Re: New crossbow stock(NOT FIREARM) Finished Stock!!
Here you go Strum. I didn't trust the wood with the cocking rope so I drilled the stock and epoxied in the brass pins. The pins are 1 3/4" long. Mike made a little walnut cap that covers the pins on his stock. Gary

nice pics. keep them coming.do not stop what you are doing , seem to be working for you. Denis This has worked well for me for several years. Put a dark red mineral salt block out in the summer when the bucks are growing their antlers and they will come. They crave the salt/minerals this time of ye...

Re: Crossbow fishing tac
I used to shoot a bunch of carp out of my canoe and put them in a gunny sack. I'd then drive down by the dam where the people of color fish and sold them the skewered carp. In the late 70's I got 50 cents each for the little ones and a dollar for the big ones. I sold out every time. Now that I think...

I took the card out of the camera and shut it off for this week. Too hot. I get false triggers during the day. I've had visitors, though. No bambis seen on the cam yet but I saw one in the pasture a few days ago. More antlers this time... http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m277/Hexar1953/ICAM0072.jp...
