I'm the 'guest' that started this thread. Oops! again. This Norton security keeps dumping my cookies and I have to log in to all my forums over and over. It was cooler today, only 65°F, but the winds were outrageous. I scouted a new spot and found plenty of deer sign, including a dozen field ...

Nope. It's called coincidence. Lincoln was a republican, Kennedy was a democrat. Lincoln came from a dirt poor background, Kennedy was born into wealth. Shall I go on?

I'm about 50/50 on morning and evening kills. I like morning better simply because if I stick one, I don't have to stumble aound in the dark trying to find it. On the other hand, who likes to get up at o'dark thirty? Glad I have the chance to hunt both. Not today, though. Pouring rain here again. :c...

I used the factory pin sight from '97 until last year on my Exocet. I've now replaced the front pin with a new style sight that has a ring with 4 marks sort of like a crosshair around the green fiber optic dot. You center the front ring in the rear peep, and that's it. It's quicker than a straight p...

I can make it out there to a tree okay, I just have problems sitting more than 2 hrs. at a stretch in a tree stand. I have kyphosis, curvature of the spine, pretty badly and for some reason *pain* makes hunting a lot less enjoyable. I have a blind with a fold up chair that helps a lot, but the...

I would argue that skunk is a terrible cover scent rather than a good one. When a skunk sprays, it is because of danger. To a deer, skunk smell means danger as well. Here where I live, there are no poisonous snakes, viscious bears or mtn lions, or anything else in the woods that is very dangerous. M...

If I ever see one of those around here, I'm moving to Canada. :? You never know...global warming an all that.

That guy had guts going in close to the elk like that. I would have passed! I read about a guy that killed a buck several years ago that was carrying the rack and head of another deer up on top of his rack. They were all locked together. I'd bet that was a stinking mess to deal with. Our loc...

A doe bleat probably won't bring in a buck yet. Once the rut really gts going, the doe bleat should bring him in. The buck grunt was a better choice. Did the buck even hear it? I'm no expert on calling deer, and am just learning myself. Last night I was in a tree and heard a buck grunt 3 times real ...

One of our (former) local small town cops got nabbed spotlighting a deer about a mile from my house a couple of years ago. I wasn't a good scene as he was in the village cop car using the cop spotlight mounted on the door to do the deed. Game wardens and state cops were on the scene, and we thought ...

Congrats! On the wife, not the deer! You can bag a deer anytime, bagging a gal like that makes her a real 'trophy wife'. I thought I did real good getting my wife, one that would cook and eat venison, but I think he has me beat. 8)

Hi Woody. I haven't seen him, but I've only been out a couple of times. I twisted my knee and I'm just now getting out and around and have gotten a couple of stands up. I have a ground blind set up also. I'd be out there now but the lightning and thunder are keeping me home! What's left of Tropical ...

I would like to add something as well. Be VERY careful ESPECIALLY hunting from a treestand, that there are no branches in the way of your limbs when you shoot. There is a possibility of getting knocked off balance and falling from your stand if you hit a branch while shooting. I always carry a smal...

We ought to charge you Hoosiers $700 to come a take our big bucks back to Indiana!! :) I looks to me like we don't have near enough hoops to jump through yet to get a tag...HA! I heard that last year they offered 12,000 out of state Illinois bow permits and they sold out in several hours. We have so...
