Re: PLEASE BE CAREFUL!!!
Where I live there are no animals that can do me much harm. No bears, no mountain lions, no rattlesnakes. Nothing to fear when I walk out to my stand at 5 am in the dark...except for the lowly skunk! We have quite a few around here and the local dogs are always getting sprayed. I've never been spray...

Re: I think Gremlins made my Axiom !
Those button head allen screws are crap. They should nix those and provide Torx screws. I had one that the hole for the wrench rounded out. I snugged it down as best I could...with blue loctite...and moved on. Bad move. From firing the bow, the scope was able to move up and down...more and more over...

Re: Croosbow Practice and Sighting in ?
I sight in off of a Black & Decker Workmate portable table thingy. I use sandbags. More importantly, I don't shoot target points...ever. I sight in and practice with the broadheads I use for hunting. After sighting in and practice, I resharpen the blades and I'm ready to go. I've found fixed bla...

Re: fawns NOT to shoot
My neighbor raises cattle and told me when a calf hits 1 yr. old it's a yearling. If it's born in spring, like the deer, then when fall comes it's 1 yr. and 6 mos. old and called a "long yearling". How's that for more confusion? Gary

Re: hunting over soya beans
If you have that many bean fields you need to do some driving and glassing. On cool sunny days I've seen big bucks bed down in the middle of bean fields. If you drive around and glass the fields you can sometimes spot them. Only their racks will be showing above the beans. Gary

Re: Scope/no scope
If your eyes are good, use the peep. I loved my peep sight and was good with it. Then, my eyes started going. Had to go to a scope. Gary

Can I hire your boy to kill all the squirrels that live by my stand and drive me crazy? I should do it myself but I just hate cleaning those little buggers. Gary

Re: Opening day adventures or Amazing animal instincts
They finally changed the law here and let us use dogs to trail wounded deer. Only thing is...the dog has to be on a leash. Gary

Re: How many came over to excal from compound x-bows?
My first bow was a Ben Pearson 35 lb fiberglas recurve. That was 1963 and I was 9. (I still have it) Next bow was a Bear Kodiak 55 lb that I could never shoot good. That was 1974. Next bow was a PSE Laser Magnum compound I bought in 1979. Never could shoot that one either due to shoulder and back in...

Re: I don't get it?
Personally, I think that if they insist on people who choose to hunt with a crossbow not being allowed to hunt with them during archery season, then we should just get back to the basics of bow hunting altogether and insist that bow sights, peeps, red dots and scopes be banned from archery equipmen...

Welcome to the forum. I'm a retired machinist with medical issues as well. I was a set-up operator on Brown & Sharpe screw machines. Now I just set-up my deerstand and crossbow. Which reminds me...3 weeks to go and I have to get a stand set up. Gary

Re: I don't get it?
HaHa! I know what you mean. If every state in the US suddenly allowed crossbow use for everyone, PSE, Mathews, and many of the others would go out of business...and Excalibur would have to build a new factory. So much for cheating. Gary
