I cant believe what im reading, my condolences to Mikes family. I am touched by this loss, i only met Mike one time but felt he was a friend through this forum, like Woody i find myself deeply hurt because of Mikes passing. For all those he left behind.....Mike will be remembered, he was a good man ...

Its close to the original as i could make it. I learned alot from this stock and would take a little more time on the next one to make drilling fixtures.

Excalbeliever , the butt plate is made from Walnut.

Excalbeliever , The thumbhole for decee is a normal thumbhole enlarged slightly.
I like that style for the maple expecially well.

Hey Hoss , I thought vertically challenged sounded better than Horizontally Challenged!!!! :wink: Just funnin :P I think you had your finish as linseed or a tung oil, spring is a good time to steel wool the wood and reapply the oil. I have come to like the birchwood casey gunstock finish lately, But...
