Went out this afternoon with a friend. He shot a large large buck around 3:00 at a fairly close distance 10 yards but some how hit a limb. The bolt hit the buck in the shoulder and he ran with the arrow in him. Because we weren't sure of the shot we waited till about 4:45 before going out to look fo...

You guys don't know this area very well. We have hundreds of deer psm. QDM in place and by taking a doe it will help to get the blance of DOe buck going. Right now it's about 8-1. As far as the little guys making it through the winter, thats not a problem around here. Thay have all the food they ne...

Not necessarily huntman. Not all does will have been bred through the first rut. And if they have, that's ok too. No different then taking a doe prior to being bred. There is often a benefit of removing does from the area. Many areas have more than enough deer to keep the population at a sustainabl...

I had a hugh doe came in and she had 2 buttons with her. She is #1 on the cull list with 2 buttons. The buttons will stay in the area and make it home turf if I take her out. Well I missed her not once but twice. not for nothing you have paid for your tag and can do what you choose however, is it n...

Buck Decoy

Has anyone ever hunted with a buck decoy? If so do decoy's tend to work at this time of the season or are they better during the rut and pre rut? I recently purchased one but have yet to use it. I have read a few books on set up but not one mentions time of season for best results.

It was a soya bean field that had been harvested then cultavated. What he was eating i don't know. Either there was a few beans left behind or he likes the taste of soil :?

If your worried about the temperature overnight that is not a concern. The standard temp. of a fridge is 7 degress. I have taken a buck a few years back that was shot with a gun through the gut and the meat was fine.
