New Excalibur on the way
Thanks to all the awesome posts on this forum. After two months of agonizing on which Excal to buy, I pulled the trigger today on a Micro 360 Pro TD-Dealer Special, with Charger EXT crank. I started the process by looking and hefting the 340 Mag up the the 400 Suppressor and finally made my choice b...

Re: Scary hunting happenings
Let me preface this by saying this happened one year before I joined my current hunting group but it comes up every year. It was late in the evening (dark) at camp when one of the guys starts seeing a bunch of men in camo, including dogs in camo on the hill. This is a pretty remote area and he start...

Re: What to buy when you have bad shoulders
Thanks to everyone that responded. Step 1, I will buy that crank for my Vortex as I’ve barely have any string time on the new Boo string. Step 2, time for some research on the Mag340 as Xmas in August is always . Thanks again

What to buy when you have bad shoulders
Guys/Gals, it’s been a very long time since I’ve been here, last time is when I ordered new strings from Boo for my Vortex. Long story short, I’ve had two shoulder surgeries and still have issues with one, but I need to get me and my bow back in the woods this fall. So the question is, do I buy a ne...

Re: Hunting Shooting Position
I mainly practice freehand both from the ground and elevated (small platform off of the pole barn), however, during the season, I'm in a ladder stand with the bow resting on the shooting rail. I actually feel much more confident this way, since if I am doing really well freehand, I know it is dead n...

Re: The Eclipse is AWESOME!
I have to say that I am really agitated now after seeing this post. I was perfectly happy with my Vortex and was completely unaware of the Eclipse until Boo's post. Now I have gone from being dumb, stupid and content to a point of envy. The new paint job is awesome and I have a case of the gimmee gi...

Re: FPS to MPH
I never did the math before, so I never anticipated 10+ inches at the rate of speed. I definitely appreciated the information and it goes to show you the importance of getting them to stop before the shot. Now the question is, what is the rate of speed of a deer during a string jump? Speed of sound ...

Re: Question for anyone that owns Treelounge tree stands
Foofoo, there are ten of us in our hunting group and we all own either one or two of the TreeLounges, so we are definitely interested in what happened. I know that he did put the leveler on correctly, I just think that he used it incorrectly, allowing the stand to spin and catch, then fail. Some of ...

Re: Question for anyone that owns Treelounge tree stands
The stand that he was using was the chinese version and he was using the recalled leveler. A bunch of us have been talking this one through, and we are wondering if he improperly leveled the stand, causing it to slipped and the dynamic jarring caused the stand arm to break. Sometimes if you screw ou...

Question for anyone that owns Treelounge tree stands
Over the weekend, a friend of mine had a catastrophic failure of a Tree lounge just before he got to his tie off cable. For those of you that own one of have used one in the past, the aluminum fractured completely through at one of the bolt holes on the largest piece of aluminum. My friend still had...

Re: Public or Private - Where do you hunt?
Sorry, but I would like to vent as well on this subject. I have hunted both however, but it has been primarily public land for the last 13 years (I have moved around alot with work). The one story I will relate and I am sure that it has happened to most that have hunted on public land, is about lazy...

I had and ole timer tell me he used PB to cover some of his scent. He would wipe it on a few trees near his stand. He said that the deer were more interested in the PB then him. There's a new usage, no need for ScentLoc, just wipe your clothes down with some Jif and if you get get caught in the wild...
