You just inspired me! I have a 'new to me' Bear compound and I have been working on some sort of grouping  . I did a bunch of work to mine and I think the only thing that is left is practice. P.S. Anyone in the Ottawa area - if you want good advice go to South Nation Archery near Winchester On...

I do my own. Its the only way I can get the cuts that I want. I go for as many steaks as possible. I also like to have a couple of nice roasts. This is why I started butchering; the 'butcher' that used to cut mine said that he could cut a deer in 1/2 hour, the job he did proved it. I take about 2 h...

I do not believe that they have to be encase for transportation. The correct rule is that they have to be unloaded. Many have open racks on their ATV's, casing does not make sense. During small game season you can always drive the bush roads with your gun on the seat beside you. The MNR statement w....

Any one do their own butchering?
For those of you who do your own, Princess Auto now sells meat grinders. They have manual (hand crank) or one that comes with a drive pulley. If you have electric motor around you will have a meat grinder for less than $100. I think their grinder is a #32 (reasonable big size). They also have sausag...

My wife
MY WIFE! I don't usually use her for hunting but at least she can hold the light while I am dragging my deer out! Corny, I know but could not help myself. She helped me one night a few years ago - long drag and it started to rain, then wind, then a full blown thunderstorm. We had to cross a 5...
