The tiller Grey Owl, is how much each limb is bent. if one limb is weaker than the other, it will bow more than the stronger limb, causing your string not to be square with the rail. Or the tiller could be off, if one limb is longer than the other. I hope this makes sense. You can see if your tiller...

neat site for any " would be crossbow builders"

If you folks like to build your own things, check this place out. http://www.alcheminc.com/crossbow.html I may try this since winter just started, I may just need another hobby. Interesting. Nice buck the guy shot also. Butcher

I love to ground hunt in the snow. With my Mossy Oak snow camo on, I feel invisible. I must be, because I've walked up on quite a few, that never knew I was there. Crunchy snow, different ball game. I sit on stand, and wait to hear the crunch sound. Butcher

I don't know what it was called, something fisk? but I think it was herring soaked in a brine for a month or s...

I bought the exomax, and really like it. Real fast, real accurate. Just a little to much to practice with all the time. I think I'm going to hold out and buy a new phoenix. I want something I can practice with, and not kill me to cock all the timed(I also use the rope cocking aid). I think I will st...

Oops, waited too long, ground is frozen! Looks like maybe next year. I'm sure that would work well though. Below the frost line, isn't the temp around 53 degrees year round? I know I saw a show on pbs, I think it was called Alone in the Wilderness, great show, where the guy put the items he wanted t...

I really like this forum. I think it's good, because if a topic is getting under your skin, it's usually gone in a couple of days, and you can forget and forgive, and move on. I might like to see a recipe section though. ONLY kidding. Seems when winter is here, I seem to focus on eating. If I keep i...

I live near the Power Plant here in Beaver co. If your going to be in the area, or need directions fo...

It looks like so much work to climb all those steps. I'm sure you know you were hunting after that climb. Whew, getting tired just looking. I'd call that a retirement stand. When I'm old enough, I hope to have one just like it. Very nice indeed. Butcher

I like the bigger canner, because you can double stack inside the canner. The item # I looked at was 4350673700 The seller had a bunch listed. It also comes with a decent bo...

Ok, Gary, you will not be sorry. I really make sure the meat is clean and lean. Deer fat as I'm sure you know, is ransid tasting, and I don't want the meat cooking in that. As stated before, I add no water the meat, will make it's own broth. I have fried the cubes before hand, and then put in the ja...

The guys nailed it on the head. I cut the venison in about 1-1/2" cubes. It must be absolutly fat free, and I try to cut out all sinew. I add 1 tsp of salt, fill jars to 1" headspace, and cook at 10 lb of pressure, for 90 minutes. in a pressure canner-cooker. I have also had some luck, add...
