Blood by Phoenix

Well, I drew blood with the Phoenix at 12 yds this evening. Enough blood infact, that the deer only went 50 yds, and was dead before she knew what caused the noise. My 2nd Excalibur deer this year, and a 100 grain Muzzy did the trick. It was about a 130 pound doe (big for the area I live in). Hit he...

I had an exomax, and it was a little much. Traded it in for a phoenix, because I found out, 225 lb pull, was illegal in Pennsylvania. If I could do it over, I'd get the exocet 200. With the rope cocking aid, I could cock the max, with a little effort. The Phoenix, takes no effort at all. I liked my ...

I got a Summit Bullet Backpacker climbing stand. Of course I had to buy it and try it in Oct. That I hope is it. I really need nothing. My wife and daughter, do the horse show thing, and a small camper we knew of, came up for sale in Oct also. So the wife and I made a deal. I bought her a camper, an...

Ecoaster,
Your father did not take a Rabbi hunting with him did he? That would explain his lack of success, do you know how hard it would be hunting having a Rabbi telling you how to kill your deer?

I feel broadheads, on an archery forum, are like caliber choices on a rifle forum. For me, I'm the biggest fan of the .25-06 Remington, that lives. I have seen instant kills (my own and others) that were just plain amazing. I've never had an animal go more than 10 feet after being struck. My rifles ...

Sorry for your loss. Been through a few of them myself, and know how you feel. Best thing to get over it, is get another dog. At least that is what helps me. I lost a shepherd about 4 years ago, and got another. The only mistake, is you when you get the same breed, you tend to compare the dogs. So t...

By the way, I don't live in the city of Pittsburgh, just near, and am no way a "city folk". There are ways, such as fencing, to keep the deer from eating your fruit. Crap on the lawn is good. Crap here, is not. There is no sense wasting any more time on you or your post. I know what you ne...

I personally feel a good propelling would do some good. I think it is also a ridiculous question such as this is quite offending any hunter. I don't call a jeep a blind. I don't call a deer dinner either. With the CWD, affecting so many areas, there may come a time when some folks don't realize how ...

Bank fish Zeke, Very slow presentation, usually a jig tipped with a minnow, and the water has to be just right. I watch and see which locks they have open, and what the drift is like (I live 3 miles from a major lock), then I know where to fish. I have been fishing the Ohio, for the last 30 years, a...

Zeke, I'm one, who hates last minute things. So........ all winter, I do all of my reloading for the spring groundhog hunting, ( I have four groundhog guns, so that kills time. That and the fact I'm very meticulous in my loading technique). I go through all of my hunting things, and make sure everyt...

I found 10 brand new, that I bought my best friend about 6 years ago for christmas. I talked to him recently, and he said he had never even opened them. I told him since I was such a good friend, he should consider giving them to me for christmas this year. We'll see what happens. I have ten of them...

I have done small game, things with many bb holes, just because grandfather used to do it, something about drawing the blood from the holes. Fact or fiction, I do not know. I do know, we never soaked our venison.
