You're not likely to find an Axiom that cheap. Re read my post, bare bones brown Vixen can often be found on the used market that cheap. The brown ones have been out of production since 2008. They sell cheap on the used market for various reasons, mostly because everyone is camo crazy and speed craz...

I'd go for the Axiom just because I think it's better value for your dollar. Clean bare bones brown Vixens (no scope or accessories) can be had on the used market for around $250-$275.

Is this a new Vixen? It's been a long time since Excal has made brown Vixens. Also, what are 'rail upgrades"?

Check with Don but I believe the fundraising aspect of Boofest will not be a big focus this year.

Just when you think you have a perfect set-up something better comes along.. lol You are correct, which is why I abandoned that pursuit years ago and focused on contentment. I'm quote happy with the Phoenix I got in 2006 and have been shooting it ever since....

Specs between the aluminum Axiom and the SMF Axiom are the same.

500 gr total arrow weight is pretty heavy for a target arrow. You'd probably be better off with done around 350 gr total weight.

How do the scores compare between the top crossbow shooters and the top open class compound shooters. I can't see the crossbow scores being any bet or even as good as the compound guys myself. It's easier to hold a open class compound setup correctly still on target than it is a crossbow free hande...
