The arrow holder at top is an old detachable quiver that I had laying around from one of my old bows. I cut it off about half way and sanded it flat to lay flat against the leather. I then attached it to the back part of the body of the quiver by drilling three small holes and using the brass screws...

wildwindom - I found several small brass screws and nuts in my junk drawer ( I'm a pack rat and never throw anything away)and drilled holes in the sides and then locked them down with loc-tite to keep them from coming apart. The section they are in is doubled anyway so I drilled the back hole out ju...

Season is over and I get bored easy. So lets make something!

Well it’s that time of year again, sitting around bored because deer season is now over and having more time on my hands than I know what to do with. So… yesterday while cleaning up around my desk I found several large pieces of scrap leather that I had forgotten about and thought that I might try a...

Thanks for all of your opinions. I do not want them for target shooting but to hunt with. I figured that 380 or 390 would be a good compromise on speed. The Phoenix top speed is around 305 a second with a minimum 350 grain arrow so I figured that just below 400 grains should keep me around 285 or 29...

Question on arrow length?

After several years of wishing for one I finally managed to buy me an Excal and decided on the Phoenix. I am going to shoot GT laser II's with brass inserts. Right now my shafts are weighing out at around 405 grains with inserts, heads and all. If I cut my arrows down from 20 inches to 18 and a half...

I see where your coming from about having a larger cutting surface being better but I wouldn’t you get better penetration from the smoke due to the opening on impact design. On the typical mechanical design where the blades have to travel rearward to open it looks like that would slow the Broadhead ...

I found some on Ebay for 40 dollars for a pack of three but I want to hear first hand before forking it over. They must hold closed during flight because he is shooting them out of a ten point crossbow during the demo. Personally I was impressed they opened on the tomato during the demo but I have b...

Smoke Broadheads

Has anyone heard of these and if so has anyone tried them?

The concept seems sound but I would like a first hand account before buying any.

I bought a Phoenix two weeks ago and wished I had know that the Ibex was coming. Still the Phoenix is sweet. Can't wait to let the air out of one next season.
