hmmmm, all this reminds me of what an old friend of mine told a media person about guns. He, a two tour Green Beret in the Nam was trying to explain to this lefty newschick why he kept guns around his home (really sophisticated stuff always load [his kids were grown and out of the hous]. She asked h...

Product liability put the powermaster project by whamo (same guys who brought you the frisbee, the hula hoop and a wood slingshot of the same name) out of business. i heard three different explanations by guys who were heavily tied into the archery business. 1) a guy cocking one of these POS's had t...

My wife is a co owner of Bethany Archery Inc-5 miles from my house. I leave many bows there and can shoot whenever I want since I have a key. I live on a 26 acre small farm in a small city. We can shoot there-I have 15 FITA targets and twice that many 3D targets (they don't get used much these days ...

fun toys if you get good ones with aluminum bolts. if you want to shoot critters, buy a good air pistol (like a webley)-pellets are a lot cheaper than bolts and kill rabbits alot more humanely

The speed of sound is far faster than any crossbow. A fast crossbow won't prevent a deer from jumping the string-it just might mean that he won't be able to jump enough to avoid getting tagged. My brother shot an impala in East Africa many years ago at a range of nearly 400m (off a bipod). The anima...

YOU ARE FAMOUS

New crossbow connection magazine by a guy named Darren mentioned this site and listed Woody, 10-Ring, Red Label. I guess he doesn't check out my target threads ( :( :( ) Oh well, it was a nice article. Nice magazine, wish it came out more than three times a year. This edition had Bill and Kath's gre...

an exocet with DB's is quieter than a vixen without them. I don't see much difference in noise in any of them, with DB's or all without DB's.

Bill T suggested a ff vixen and told me it could be set up to shoot 300 (I don't doubt this) and told me it would be easier to cock (once again, true). However, you can use cocking straps-unlike the now defunct IAU sport division (at least for most classes) and the defunct NCHA/NCHO-so I went with t...

Dan Miller tallked me into shooting some 3D with an excalibur and now that my club has legalized it (rather than having to set up my own course on my oh so flat farm) during their leagues, I got a fast flite strung exocet from him at the ATA show. Using the 350 grain laser2 target bolts for my point...

The Michigan antis are very vehement and would rather not have handicapped or the elderly hunting than hunting with crossbows. THey seem to think that Fred Bear left the MIchigan archery season to them alone in his will. They argue that every gun hunter buying a crossbow would destroy the deer herd....
