The kits work fine, however the way I did mine was to pull all tail feathers from the butt (no meat left at all) and rearrange them on a board/cardboard. Then take automotive bondo and lay a thin layer at the base of the feathers. The advantages to this are: you can align your feathers perfectly, it...

burning/smoke smell

Once in a while when I shoot my Exocet, I get a burning/smoke smell. Is this caused by the bolt striking the rail or the string slapping. Once I thought I even seen sparks, I've examined my bolts and they have a black streak on the aluminum nock. Is this something to worry about or is it just the bl...

Dryfire.........

My buddy dryfired his Exocet the other day, he was drawing it by hand and it slipped at full draw. There did not appear to be any damage and the x-bow continued to shoot bullet holes at 20 and 30 yards. Is there any chance of permanent damage he needs to worry about.

Not to sound dumb, but can someone fill me in on brace height. My new Exocet has 2 lines, I assume the string is suppose to remain between them. I read something about twisting the string to adjust it. Someone please clue me in.

bolt vane length

I just bought a six pack of Gold Tip II's, they had 5" vanes. Most all other brands had 4" vanes. Has anyone noticed a big difference when shooting, the color select was terrible at Bass Pro and I want to refletch and crest them. Plus the 4 inchers are easier to pull out of the target when...

Exocet 8 shot group

http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g116/bowmuzhntr/s-bow.jpg Here's an 8 shot group from my new Exocet 200. All 8 shots were under the size of a penny at 20 yards. This group was shot out of the box after I received it yesterday. I'm pretty happy with the performance so far, now I just have to zero ...

My experience with a Parker was: Limb splintered after @ 30 days of use. X-bow was not dry fired or any other user induced faults. I spoke with the Parker Factory Rep (Jim) and he acknowledged that Parker did have a problem with their limbs, something to do with the final coating or sealer on the li...

Shifty,

That is my question, can I replace the half moon kocks with the blunt ones on my old arrows. If so, where can I buy them.

nock question

I'm new to the board and had 2 questions on nocks. I switched from a Parker to an Exocet after the Parker blew a limb after just 30 days of shooting. My first question was answered in a previous post (fletching by gluing a kock onto a field tip). My second question is are the half moon kocks replace...
