Twice I did that in a feild, once by accident. About 70 degrees.
I could see the arrow drop, don't look up, look striaght ahead, it hit about 250 yards out. The ground sucked it right up.

Did you dry fire it by mistake? It happens.

Speed is over rated. Go with something you can cock by hand if you forget the cocking aid in your car. I keep thinking of doing the same, going back to factory sights. At one time I could traget shoot out to 50 yards. But with the need to tinker I tried a scope and played with that. But now I have the itch to tinker...........

I have made both, did not find one better than the other.
The differance in weight was about 20g.Not even 1" lower POI at 20 yards.
