More Virginia Success with the Exomax!
Last Friday morning....the rain stopped during the night, but the woods were soaked and dripping. Went to one of my honey holes and climbed the tall Poplar. Watched a small 4 pointer rub a tree to a shine for 30 minutes at about 8 AM. Then at 9:11, I saw a deer in the brush coming down the small rid...

Va. opener and first two kills!
The day dawned crisp, and with a slight NW breeze. Perfect for the spot I sat in my Summit. It was also the first day afield for the Exomax. I shoot 20 inch 2216's with three four inch vanes, and 125 grain Sonics. It puts total weight at 446 grains at 317 fps. After a beautiful morning of several si...

Without extra weight you will not be able to get that weight from the Gold Tips. 20 inch GT, three 4 inch vanes and brass insert, plus 125 grain head only gives me an average of 437 grains. You will need to go the route of using the all thread rod as mentioned above or go to heavier carbons. Thanks,

Tuned broadheads today !!
Today the weather was OK so I took the "new" Exomax to the bench for some serious testing. Three arrows: Gold Tip Laser 2 with brass insert, aluminum nock, 4 inch vanes, and 125 grain field tip. Weight is 437 grains. Chronograph average, 319 fps. One inch groups at 20 yards. XX75 2216's wit...

killshot, If the bore is dead level, the bullet of any gun, even a Super Humdinger Magnum Lightnin' Strike, will NOT rise above the line of the bore. Nothing overcomes gravity. This old tale is the result of the difference in line of bore and line of sight. If a gun is sighted for 50 yards, The bull...

I personally had hunting deep in my soul. I don't know where it came from since my Dad never took me hunting and discouraged me from hunting. He did agree to buy my Remington 870 for me when I was 15. I gave him the $135.00 and he brought her home. She now belongs to my 17 year old son. I gave her t...
