no comparison-use a scope. It allows you to hunt longer and allows a more accurate picture. I shoot peeps all t he time since I am a serious target crossbow archer but I hunt with a scope

use em in the rain or in the early season where the brush is really heavy where I hunt. They worked pretty good for me but don't shoot past 30 yards max

If money is not an issue, just get the Max. I know of a lot of people who have ugraded to a more powerful Excal but I don't know too many who have downsized. You can never have too much power (within reason he he  ... something to think about. bad advice IMHO, I can afford any of them and ...

the last 10 or so deer I have killed have all been taken with wasp or grim reaper mechanicals-out of 150 vixen, 165 and 175 exocet and an early exomag which I think is in the 185-190 or so range

I bought a phoenix to replace the 02 version of the exocet I used as a shop demo and 3D bow. I have a vixen deluxe for hunting. 150 is more than enough for hunting Ohio deer

The Phoenix

I suspect this will be the all time most popular bow from Excalibur.

It handles very well, has more than enough power for all but the biggest beasts and is not ridiculously hard to cock

DJH is right-its maybe 75 braindead morons who speak for all those clubs. 75 people that hunting as a whole would be better off if they took up ballet or badminton and gave up hunting

Its been almost thirty years since I have seen one of those things Live-it was pretty much the best xbow around back then-400 dollars or so when you could buy the same olympic bow Darrell Pace was setting record after record with for less than half that. I believe it was for a "bastard string&q...

a great hardcase was once made by Hoppes-I have two-you took the bow off and it fit in fine. I will probably use a pelican for my custom Point Blanc if I have to travel with it-unlike the hunting bows, you have to take the stirrup off.

I just set up a new point blanc target bow. The stock went right on-all I needed was a new bolt since the factory one was a bit short (its 10-32 in case anyone is interested-not common but easy enough to find in an ACE hardware-got in in brass since it won't rust and they didn't have stainless) the ...
