Re: Finding Cock vane in Dark
Put the cock vane facing downward in the quiver, load it the same way it comes out of the quiver, without turning, and you will be good to go.

Re: Vacuum sealing testimonial
I don't know what kind of bags you guys need for your sealers but I use these poly bags for all my food. Prices like $30 per 1000. I use the 3 mil. and get various sizes. I also use their sealer. http://www.uline.ca/cls_01/Bags-Poly-Plastic Their website says those bags are not compatible with Food...

Re: Vacuum sealing testimonial
what kind and how did it work, was it slow? It's a "Deni", it works great, sucks every bit of the air out, takes about 30 seconds to vacuum and seal a bag. I get the bags from a dealer on eBay, about $15 for 100. I do not use the rolls as I find them wasteful and DO NOT buy Foodsaver bran...

Vacuum sealing testimonial
Several years ago, I bought an inexpensive vac sealer primarily for deer. Yesterday I was plundering in the freezer and found a bag with "tenderloin 10/09". I wondered how the heck I had missed that one. Anyhow, thawed it, looked good and red, no freezer burn. Sliced it into medallions, se...

Re: Lost Another One
I have only shot at, and hit, one deer beyond 30 yds. 20-25 is my comfort zone. If you are hunting from the ground, aim low, but not at 45 yds, as a high hit will not put a hole low enough for the blood to drain, just bleed out internally. I learned this from a doe at 22 yds , high double lung hit a...

Re: New to Crossbows and Excalibur
Welcome aboard and to Xbow hunting. After you hunt with it, you'll wonder why you waited to get one. Your second best decision was to get an Excalibur. Built like a tank, shoots straight and fast. As for broadheads, I've used Slick Trick Magnums and Wasp Hammer with the same results. I have some 2&q...

Re: Meat Grinder/Sausage/Pepperette machine
Just got a LEM from Amazon and used it for the first time to grind deer into burger. I cut the meat into different sizes from 2" square to 8" long to see if it affected the grinder. It sucked it all down and pushed it out the plate faster than I could shove it in. I wore myself out last we...

Re: TV Show noise
I used to rarely miss any hunting show dealing with deer hunting, but now, I rarely watch any of them. All have sold out to endorse products that just don't work, and I have been sucker enough to try most of them. Most are on a 5 or 6 day free hunt and NEVER take a deer until the last hour on the la...
