Re: anybody seeing deer?
Seen only a couple does when out riding. Put the trail camera out a couple weeks ago and had only a couple pics of 1 scrawny doe.

Re: Just shot my new Ibex
TR- like you I bought an aluminum Ibex. It's lots
of fun to shoot and even though it's only an inch shorter it seems like
a lot more, feels more handy than my Vortex.

Re: O/T - I think I understand now
We just visited our daughter and her family in Vancouver.
The map sums it up nicely for that area.

Re: Anyone else fired up for deer yet?
Yep. Been shooting the xbows about every evening. Tested my climbing harness yesterday and ladder stand. Ordered a new hang on stand and sticks last week, also ordered a new device to add additional safety when climbing up my ladders or sticks. I figured since it wasn't too hot yet I'd better get ou...

Re: Experimenting with a Weaver V3 Scope
The V3 looks like it has a rightful place on the Vortex. How is the dawn/dusk light gathering charateristics from the 20mm lens? How is the focus down to 5-10 yards? Just came in from shooting using the Weaver. Sunset was at 8:26 and I shot a few times around 8:50. I didn't have any trouble seeing ...

Experimenting with a Weaver V3 Scope
I had been want a little more magnification for my muzzle loader so I removed the Weaver V3 from it this week and a 2-7X32 is going on it. Then I got to wondering how the little Weaver would do on my Vortex. With over 3 months til deer season I figured I'd experiment a little using some of y'alls (w...

Re: using Arizona bolt fletcher
With a lot of spin, do the arrows loose any velocity compared to vanes with less offset or straight fletch? Just curious. A slight loss in fps after 40 yards, so, not much concern there. You will find that the "EZ Bolt" 2" fletch performs better in a cross wind too. I used to hold in...

Re: Garden Update
That's a good looking garden you got there. You're way ahead of mine. Mine looks pitiful. After I planted it came a hard rain and now the crust is like a brick. Guess your stuff is blooming or is about to.

Re: using Arizona bolt fletcher
EZ Bolt for crossbows that do the 2 inch Blazers has 3 degree offset, I put just a drop of gorilla blue top super glue on the vane and use a toothpick to spread lot less glue means a lot neater job. They shot awsome they look like they a spinning a mile a minute, and accuracy is unbelievable. God B...

Re: using Arizona bolt fletcher
Have you guys shot any arrows yet that have been fletched with the bolt fletcher? My AZ uses the arms for aluminum shafts and a 4 degree offset. Field points fly great and broadheads fly good. I've been thinking about getting the Bolt arms to go on mine if they will be of any benefit. They sure soun...

Looks good. A lot better than my first. I've made about a dozen more
Using fast flight material. My trouble is waitng
too long between strings and forgetting the procedure. Lol

Re: Cocking your excal by hand?
I've had my Vortex for awhile and it's tough to cock by hand but can be done. Even though I don't have a Vixen I recently got a 175# Ibex and it's a lot easier to cock by hand if I ever need to. I guess it's a combination of less weight and being a little shorter makes it easier to cock. Cocking a 1...
