Do you use a stringer to string your bow???

Just wondering how many of us use stringers to string our Excaliburs???

I have a stringer for carved tip bows but don't need it to string my carved tip Exocet.......my moulded tip Exocet is another story and I may have to invest in a stringer for it........

Just a quick update: I left the bow strung overnight with the endless dacron string and then shot it a few times this morning....brace height is now 2 3/8" so I e-mailed Excalibur service and this is the response from Bill T (don't you just love it when the owners of the company answer customer...

I have now measured 3 new dacron strings.....all measured right at 35"......maybe Bill T will chime in and tell us what is going on??? I know he mentioned in another thread about the brace height marks not being correct for dacron strings, but I can't believe a 2.5" brace height is correct...

Yep, I figured the new bow would be harder to string.......but I didn't expect the excessive brace height! I've got one more spare string for my old exocet in my hunting pack .....I'll measure it and see how long it is.......

Gary That's just it.....the dacron string is not twisted! I put the same string on my carved limb exocet and the brace height is correct???? When I put it back on the moulded tip bow the brace height is 2.5".......it looks like the thing is half cocked!! :D I put the dacron string back on it an...

Thanks Digger

I thought they were all the same length, but the 2.5" brace height with the dacron string is bizarre!!

I am sitting here trying to string my new 2004 model Exocet.......I can get it strung with the flemish string that came with it, but I can't get a dacron string on it to save my life!!! I got two dacron strings from DW and was wondering if they could possibly be too short?? They are 35" long an...

There is nothing wrong with carved tip limbs either! My old carved tip Exocet still shoots right through deer.......it isn't the fastest, but it will certainly still get the job done!!

If the bow looks to be in good shape I wouldn't be afraid of it!!

Good post Wabi I personally don't care if my broadheads shoot to the same point as field tips........I couldn't tell you the last time I shot a field tip out of my Exocet... I shoot broadheads when I'm hunting and I shoot broadheads when I'm getting ready for hunting.......I'm not a target shooter a...

This is an easy one......strip the stock off your bow......scuff it very well..... take it to your local "spray in bedliner" installer and have them put a light coat of truck bedliner on it! Be sure you have them tape off anything that you don't want covered!

Glad you found your deer!! What broadhead did you use???? Twice, I have shot deer through both lungs and found very little blood on the bolt.......and I'm shooting feathers!!! The first time it happened, I found the deer before I found the bolt.....if I had found the bolt first, I would have thought...
