Update... On Wednesday of this week I went to my Credit Union to tell them I was protesting my charges for my credit card order to Ye Olde Archery Shop. The CU tried several phone numbers with no response. They tracked down a number in Louisville, KY (interesting because I believe Ye Olde Archery Sh...

I said earlier that my finished arrow weighed 560 grains. That was a typo. E.Carbon, 2" Blazers, plastic nock, Alum inserts, 150 gr. boltcutters weigh in at 456 grains. According to my calculations, my FOC is 14.9%. Feathers would probably put me over 15%, but to get to 20% I need brass inserts...

I have been cutting my inserts down to about 1/2 inch. I really hate to start loading my shafts up with bolts and such, and I would like to stay under 500 grains on my completed arrows since I am shooting a Phoenix. My current arrow is about 560 grains. The funny thing is, my excalibur arrows (alumi...

BrassforEastons

Greetings: Can anyone tell me if the GT Brass Inserts will fit the new Easton Carbon Bolts? If not, what other sources should I check. I have seen some of you recommend against using plastic flat nocks...Why? I am having a difficult time getting 15+_FOC. Plastic nocks would help. I am working with t...

Saxman:

Do you remove the string to wax the loops? I hate removing and installing the string, even with a stringer.

Thanks to all for the information.

Waxing

Boo: On this thread you said wax the serving when shooting, and the string when you finish shooting. Do you literally mean wax the string every time you finish shooting, eg. practice, a hunting trip, etc? I thought others have said that you only wax the servings on a crossbow string NOT the string. ...

Phoenix String Length

I have a brand new Phoenix. I just went out to the range and noticed that one or two strands on my string are broken. I am afraid to hunt with it like this so I started to buy a new one. One supplier lists a flemish string that measures 35.4 inches long, another one lists 36 inch flemish string. How...

Update on my dilemma.. Called Ye Old Archery Shop first thing this morning. Got a message referring me to OutdoorHuntingSupply.com. Called them, and their voice mail box is full.....no response. It looks like something negative is going on. I am going to cancel the order, order from someone else and...

Merchandisers

Greetings: Is anyone aware of a problem at Ye Old Archery Shop? I placed a $150 order about 10 days ago for some CX shafts, inserts, a case for my Phoenix, etc. I charged the order on my VISA. A couple days later I got a strange email saying that the inserts were on backorder and that if I had any q...

Thanks, however if the string hits the bumpers just before it reaches the normal brace height what happens as far as arrow speed, accuracy, etc? One last STS question...my package included two replacement bumpers and two pieces of what appear to be dental floss or serving material. Of course their a...

Thanks again. What I thought was wax may actually be "white out" that I put on the string to help insure proper cocking alignment. Anyway, I will keep an eye on it and keep my string tight. I see another problem with my STS. As the string stretches, my stoppers are out of alignment. Before...

Sting hitting the riser....now there is something new to worry about.

Which is more likely to hit the riser, a tight string or a loose string?

I can see a couple of small wax marks on my riser now.

Thanks,
Mike

string stretch

Greetings:

My new Phoenix has two lines on the rail to align the string. When I put my new string on it was above the top line. Now it is about in the middle (maybe 20 shots and strung for 3 dayys). As a general rule, where do I want to keep my string relative to the two lines?

Thanks,
Mike

STSvsExcalibur

Greetings: All is well in Illinois. I found the pads for the excalibur dissipator bar. I had put them in the scope box and then put the scope box up for storage. My only continuing problem is cutting down these STS bolts to fit my Phoenix. You would think a manufacturer would make a product that fit...
