Re: Hi All! New to the Forum and Excalibur!

Welcome to the wonderful world of crossbows; be careful- watch your fingers !!;(and your wallet these bows can get addictive). And get yourself a bow stringing aid so you can adjust the brace height when needed. Shoot straight and have fun!!

Re: im new

I would think since you are just starting out that using the bow as is would work fine. In the future with more experience under your belt you might want to upgrade to better optics or custom string but by no means do you need to. For now make sure you get a stringing aid so you can adjust the bow's...

Re: Hip quiver

I use the Excal bow quiver after I drill a couple holes in the center rail to tie a loop of paracord ,then I can attach it to any belt I wear hunting. It works really nice with shorter arrows.

Re: micro with lighter drawweight?

I believe the Micro has a swept back riser already but if you could shorten the rail just a little bit to get a draw weight of 240-250lbs. that might work. I would like it if the bow still shoots around 300 fps.

New stuff for my Micro

Can not wait to try out my new flemish string (orange , silver &black) with the new 15 inch BEEs (with orange mini-vanes weighing in at 355gr.) that Xcaliber made for me. I think they will be just the ticket for my black Micro. As soon as it warms up here a little I will be shooting, and very ha...

Re: Arrow Question

Wow Galamb!! You hit the nail on the head. It has taken me years to learn the difference between want and need. Yet at times I still find myself torn between wanting to keep it simple but fascinated by the new stuff in the marketplace.

Re: Quiver options, advice?

I've never liked bow quivers; so I just drilled a couple holes in one. attached a small loop of paracord and slip a nylon belt through it to wear around my waist or hang on a peg in my tree stand. Works great and if I will be in very brushy cover I might put a strip of camo. tape or parcord over the...

Re: Crossbow purchase

I was going to suggest looking at the new Grizzly model as a lower cost way to get an Excalibur but I have to say now is; GO FOR THE MICRO!! It is the bow that most Excal. fans have been dreaming of for a long time. It's harder to draw but all that power in such a small package can not be beat. Have...

Re: lighted nocks for quills?

I use the lumenoks and to turn them off I just use a cheap pair of small pliers with some black tape wrapped on the jaws or my teeth. Just bite down with a little twist and pull; no problem lights out.

Re: a little history

Hey thanks for sharing your story and on choosing a Micro ; I would go with the black as it has a nice textured feel to it. I love mine.

slack trigger

Where I hunt it is very hilly and slippery with oak leaves and now snow. So the other day I slipped and fell hard to the ground with the bow in my hands. Wasn't hurt at all but the trigger on my Matrix 310 seems slack now. It sits further back in the trigger guard so draws shorter and does not alway...

Re: Micro quill length

I would like to know why you don't want the broadhead past the stirrup. I have been thinking of removing the stirrup and just using a rope loop. It makes any bow 5 inches shorter, a quarter pound lighter and quieter. If i am missing something please let me know. Like they say, you don't know what yo...

Re: GreyHawk thumped 6 pt. Pic's

Yeah, the CVA Apex is too expensive for me too. Of course, the Micro bow i just got cost much more; but cheaper to shoot. I hunt with a Hunter in 7mm-08 or a Scout in 44 Mag. I prefer the Scout's underlever action and stainless steel build to the Hunter model. Smokeless muzzleloading is one thing I ...

Re: GreyHawk thumped 6 pt. Pic's

Are you going to stay with muzzleloaders or switching to CF rifles? All my brother and I use in NYS are single -shot rifles and my favorites are made by CVA. They are inexpensive, tough, point like a wand and have great triggers. Way better than the Handi-rifles which I shot for years.
