Grohmann bought the Russell line of knives quite some time ago,and they are sold as Grohmann Russell. Actually the Russell knives that Grohmann makes ( the #1, #2, #3 and #4) were always made by Grohamnn. In fact they were a design collaboration between Deane Russell and Rudolph Grohmann. Grohmann ...

What have you got to lose except some extra time getting ready?
MONEY
Not really. Between laundry detergent and shower soap we probably spend less than $5 a season. Negligable...

BTW...how could u manage to gut shoot a deer at 25 yards!?!?!? i know poeple make mistakes but thats really bad... Man, you haven't been hunting very long have you? It can happen to anyone and if you don't think it can happen to you you're dreaming. A bow cocked slightly off center alone can do it ...

Scent control (or not)

What kind of scent controls do you guys practice (if any). I always give my wife a hard time (jokely of course) as I think she's a bit obsessive. Typically she'll wash all her clothes in a scent free detergent and then leave them hanging outside for at least a day before she hunts. She then bags the...

I don't think there is a standard set of colours for the Right Stuff package. My package had green and orange and my wifes package came with blue and white fletching. They were even bought at the same store.

Could it be a difference in hunting philosophy? Yup. Up here you can have snow in November (we had some in October already). Archery season goes until Decmber 31st so there is a good chance we'll be hunting with snow cover ground. The last thing you want on an arrow in those conditions is white. Ea...

Future bow hunter in the making

My 21 month old son was "too quiet" so I went looking for him. This is what I found in the bathroom.

I've heard nothing but complaints about Rocky boots since they started making them in China.

This sounds cool. I'm going to alter this thread title slightly to see if we can get some interest. If there is enough interest, and pending Peter getting approval, I think it would be a great time. Start chiming in people!

Factory tour anyone????

Does anyone know if Excalibur offers factory tours???? I drive by the place all the time and I've always wondered what the operation was like inside. There's enough people on this board from the Kitchener area. I always thought a group tour would be cool. Good chance to meet some of the other people...

If it's a Model 28 then it's definetly 32 rimfire. These guns were made from the mid 1890's to the mid 1930's.

So when you guys go big game hunting, why do you choose a crossbow rather than a gun? Archery season - 3 months. Gun season - 2 weeks. Archery hunting for me - 20 minute drive from home. Gun hunting for me - 3 hour drive from home. I do put away the crossbow for the first week of rifle season and h...

I like to use film canisters for pre-measured black powder charges for hunting with a muzzle loader. My wife uses corn oil as a face moisturizer when she's hunting in the cold, dry weather. She' says it does a great job keeping her skin from drying out and has no offensive odour for the deer to pick...

I can't quote any laws but I can give two real life examples I know of. A few years ago a co-worker got pulled over in his van. It was a cargo style van so he made a bracket on the inside wall that his xbow would clamp into so it wouldn't be sitting loose in the back. The officer questioned the lega...
