Seems like people are lumping head on shots and quartering towards shots in the same category. I would not take a head on shot. But quartering towards is a doable shot if the animal is close and not alerted. No shot is good if the animal is looking at you. It would also depend on the angle of course...

I shot a doe a couple weeks ago that was quartering towards me. I was in a tree stand and she was bent over eating an apple. It busted her shoulder then through vitals and she went down like a sack of sand. I was using a 200# exomag beeman thunderbolt tipped with a four bladed 100 grain muzzy. The d...

I have a viper. Very nice and easy to use. The harness system seems overly complicated to me though.

Maxpoint Buckmaster report, I like it

Ok, first thanks to Digger for the info I needed on this bow. Paid 230 +35 shipping on a one day auction. Good shape overall. The serving needed to be retied. The holes where the quiver bracket bolts into were stripped, easily fixed. Besides that it was in good shape. I took off the hornet 4x32 and ...

Phone the Excalibur Dude, if any one has a copy he will. 1-800-463-1817 I sent them an email. He usually gets back fairly quickly. What is the recommended bolt weight? 410 gr and up. you can use Tenpoint carbon bolts in the Maxpoint or Paradox. Thanks Digger. I ordered six carbon ten points today. ...

The reason we stopped producing the Paradox is the limb system was manufactured by Bear Archery and they were suffering fina...

I just picked up my maxpoint for 230 on ebay. It was a one day auction so it did not have time to climb very high I think. Anyway there is another that may sell cheap so I thought I would post it here. 5 hours left still at 203, 30 shipping. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=012&a...

I just bought one on ebay. Can anyone help me out with a copy of the owner's manual. I paid 230 + 35 shipping. Good buy I think. We will see what sort of shape it is in.

I think I would send it back to have it repaired. An Excalibur xbow should not do this. I had a barnett that did this and it drove me batty. My exomag holds the bolt in properly.

I inadvertently bought 4 bladed muzzy's when I was looking for some three blades. I have read 4 blades do not fly as straight as the three blades. Not true, as accurate as my field points. Killed a doe yesterday, broke the top of the shoulder and exited the lower rib cage, stuck in the ground on the...

I am shooting a combined bolt broadhead weight of around 450-475 grains and my proper setting on my varizone is 305-320 FPS. Shoots accurate out to 50 yards. Edit: I forgot to mention it is a 200 lbs Exomag. It looks like I have it set on around 315 fps. I am using a beeman 20 inch bolt with a 100 g...

My first crossbow was a barnett revolution. Shot very hard, was as accurate as the shooter I would say. I had problems with the heavy trigger pull and how front heavy the crossbow was. But believe me, it does shoot hard. I now have a 200 lbs exomag and it definitely would bury the bolts in my block ...
