Re: Hawk Attack
That's a cool story!! Another one of those moments that can only be witnessed when you are in the woods not on the couch. I had a Coopers hawk scare the crap out of me while bear hunting. In my stand, the air was still all was quiet, except for a few small sparrows and chickadees out in front of me....

Congrats Pyd, neither one of you shall forget that hunt. It is those kind of memories that we are worth hunting for.

Hey bud, you deserve to get yourself a turkey tomorrow, and I expect a text to verify this!!
Nice find too!! Go get them and enjoy the woods, even if they are a little wet. Rain + turkey season = success.

Re: 50 Yard Group
Excals certainly build the confidence.. Just remember, a 50 yard stationary target(under ideal conditions) is not the same as tossing an arrow at a game animal.

My "Advanced" birthday surprise.
I got a call from my mom this morning at around 10:30. My step-dad and her are supposed to be coming down from Waubashene to visit. She says they are at Advanced Taxidermy, and I need to come up there with my van. Ok. Weird. Why? Well I caught a pretty good sized musky a few years back, 2007, turns ...

Re: Hunting Gobblers From Treestand
Not an easy way to hunt them. I have been close enough to kill turkey while in a tree when hunting deer, but you are really confining your efforts to one spot. Better to be mobile during turkey season.

Exceptional!! You are a true craftsman. The labour of love is evident. It's amazing what you can do with a chunk of wood.
